I struggled to try to follow what was happening throughout this movie, to the point that I never finished it.

I thought there would be more action, but its more of a story of the political side. Decent movie though

the film was very slow, no action until the very end. Very hard to stay awake during this movie.

I didn’t see this movie when it came out and now I know why! The plot of the movie runs very slow and plays out like a made for TV movie.

Be warned this dvd came with a digital download that expired 3 years ago and would not work! Thanks Best Buy

If you want to learn something about the war on terror go watch Syriana instead of this.

If you like an hour and half of talking and then 10 minutes of action Then get this movie.

Tired watching this movie multiple times and fell asleep each time.

An incredible movie that had a n exceptional blu ray release. if you don't have it or are a big fan of the movie, this 4k presentation is definitely the way to go. looks incredible!!

After hearing so much about this movie and the controversies surrounding it (especially the torture scenes), I was very anxious to see it. However, Kathryn Bigelow has delivered a taut, thrilling account of a great manhunt that far surpasses her earlier effort, the Oscar winning (but overrated, in my personal opinion) Hurt Locker. Jessica Chastain is great in the leading role, and leads a diverse cast that each shines in their own respective roles. It's great to see Kyle Chandler start to get some more screen time in his movie appearances as well. While everyone knows how the story ends, that doesn't take away from the drama and excitement that comes just from seeing how it got to that point. The assault on the compound is as tense a scene as you will see. The only real negative, and this really has nothing to do with the movie itself, is the lack of special features on the disc. There's only a few short featurettes running around 10 minutes each, and while the information in them isn't worthless, it's just not enough to really satisfy your curiosity about a great film. That aside, this is a great film, and definitely worthy of your collection.

Full disclosure, though I liked it, I didn't think Kathryn Bigelow's previous film, The Hurt Locker, was quite as incredible as the reviews suggested it would be, but I was thoroughly impressed with its follow-up here. Chronicling the hunt for for Usama bin Laden, the film takes on the pseudo-documentary feel that's becoming more and more common-place, but in this particularly instance, it's very appropriate. And, despite what pundits on either side of the political spectrum would have you believe, the film doesn't really worry too much about the politics involved. It tries to adhere to the facts as much as possible, and sometimes those facts are a little ugly and the morality at play is thoroughly in a murky, gray area, but the film itself doesn't want to take sides. The writing and acting are top-notch and the climactic infiltration of the compound at the end, though a little long, is extremely intense. The audio/visual presentation of the blu-ray is outstanding, but extras are a little lacking.

One COULD argue about the accuracy of the actual raid, which is pretty close if one reads No Easy Day by a Navy Seal who was there, so, I won't nit-pick about that. Instead I will comment on the triumph of this film. At the end -- and this is no spolier -- Bin Laden has been killed and the CIA agent who has spent the last 11 years of her life on this case is alone and weeps. It's powerful and moving. What seems like should be a happy moment, the killing of the world's No #1 terrorist, leaves her drained emotionally and phsically. As you watch her evolve over the course of the film, you are able to feel her pain and anguish at this point. She did it, she's successful, but in the end, all those people that died in New York, Washington and a Pennsylvania field are still dead and for what? In those simple tears, it sums up the entire bloody waste that Bin Laden and his ilk have dumped on the world. Well done.

By now you know the history behind the film and all the well deserved accolades this film rightly earned. This review will concentrate on the merits of the Blu-ray. Zero Dark Thirty's video presentation is astounding. details are strong and both color and contrast are impressive. Nothing at all to complain about. The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack is even better. all channels are clear, dialog is never a problem, LFE is aggressive but never overbearing. And finally, the surround support is active, natural and full of ambiance. The only real issue worth complaining is the special features section (or lack thereof). This would have been a wonderful opportunity of provide a thorough documentary not only of the film making process, but of the real stories behind the film. All in all, this is still a must own on Blu-ray simply because it is a five star film given a fantastic Blu-ray A/V presentation.

This is a great movie which gives a nice chronology of events leading up to the capture and raid on Osama bin laden's compound. The story is superb and so is the acting by Jessica chastain and the other actors. My only complaint about it is that the torture scenes tend to run on a bit too long even though I understand how they contribute to building up the story. Also, if you are looking for more non-stop action similar to the hurt locker you may come away a little dissapointed because the biggest action sequence does not come until the end and most of the rest is dramatic conversations behind closed doors and watching intelligence operations. While watching the politics and briefings involved in the eventual capture of bin laden is interesting in and of itself, I think some of it could have probably been cut out or trimmed a bit to help the movie lead into the action sequences.
