Zoom recorders are a great and affordable option for recording. I'm a filmmaker so they are great for on location recording and easy to use. They are also easy to hide so they can go anywhere!

If you find a better handheld recorded let me know because I haven't seen it.

You definitely need to read the instruction manual as I didn’t think the controls/menu was intuitive. Nonetheless, I was able to pick it up, figure out how to operate it, and successfully record a high quality interview, all in the span of a few hours. I was looking for a recorder that could produce WAV files and this one can.

The Zoom H4N provides massive bang for the buck and is a must-have for podcasters. Forget the more expensive, later models. This powerful, versatile recorder will give the majority of podcasters what they need to capture rich, full sound.

Purchased the Zoom to record audio for a Web podcast series. Couldn'the be happier with the sound quality. It picks up everything that we want to capture with the mic plugged in and cancels out all the extra background noise. Great investment!

Using mine for Bigfoot research. Works well in outside environments, recordings are absolutely fantastic. You never know, one of these recorders could be the one that proves they are out there!

A small yet powerful recorder that can make recordings comparable to more expensive equipment with all the cables, mikes, and equipment. The manual is a bit overwhelming but pretty easy to use with some experience.

I had the Tascam, but returned it. This one helped me do interviews, rigging it to two mics. I found it slightly more intuitive with menus and everything. Once I got the hang of it, came to love it.

I've used this a few times since purchasing, works better than I anticipated. Clear recording. I did need to read the instructions, not as simple as press record, but easy to follow instructions.

I bought this recorder thinking I needed it, but soon realized it was more than I needed. I can imagine it would be perfect for those that want to record while playing on instruments or singing into a mic.

I needed better audio for videos, and recording with a zoom was all I was missing. The audio is extremely clear, has many features to adjust the audio how you want it!

Professional quality recorder at a reasonable price. Only problem was poor battery cover which failed after 6 months and is no longer supported by zoom.

I'm a videographer still in college and was sick of renting audio equipment all the time so picked up a zoomH4n works great very reliable sound quality is good. Super handy cant go without an audio recorder.

I bought this for work, to record audio from either lapel mics or a shotgun mic. The first item I got had a button that was broken/didn't work, but Best Buy replaced it pretty quick.

Monitoring audio levels from various miss as well as the ability to be used as an audio interface is a great tool.

This amazing device gave my interviews and video a whole new kick. For so many years I was just using a long cable with a solo mic attached to my camera but with this one is just so much better to have it station closer to my subject and get better audio and then just sync it on post or record straight to the video.
