Better Than iPod, Called Best Buy for Reason!

This product is phonominal compared to my old Apple iPod Video 30 GB. It's 80 GB, Big Beautiful screen.
About the headphones that came with it, they are ok for beginners but not the best, but i had the Bose In-Ear Headphones all ready so i was set.( But like said, the headphones that come with the iPod bust out within a week so same thing there.)
For the EQ it does change the setting to what genre the song is under, that's why you don't have the ability to select it but if you are good with music, you will be able to hear a difference with the different eq's that it selects automatically. You can't find anywhere that it does this, but i'm pretty sure that it does considering that i come from a family of musicians
The wi-fi is great. I love it!!! I can sync from anywhere in my home without haveing to use a single wire.
For the software, it is very very very user friendly, and very very easy to use. It's just if you have an older computer you need to go into the settings and change it to where it doesn't animate and to where it's just a plain color, and you should be fine, worked for my dad's 4 GB Zune on his 5 year old Dell P4 Computer, and it works like a dream on his computer as well!!!!
(Faster than iTunes, and syncs faster than iPod)
The touch is sooo great you can navigate soooo easily between songs, pictures anything. :]
The pictures and radio are really neat as well. On the radio you have this thing where it grabs the data playing from the radio station. So then you can add it to your want list and then go download it later (Not Available on iPod)
The pictures are great because you can use any of the for your wallpaper (Not Available on iPod)
The podcasts i really haven't tryed yet but i have tryed the ones on there and they have worked absolutely amazing.
It charges and syncs automatically without you having to choose to disconnect from the computer to use it , all you have to do is close zune on you're computer.
The charge does NOT take that long at all.
The movies and videos are amazing as well on this Zune.
The music is PURE and it is Clear, and for those who think the volume should be 30 you might wanna get you're hearing checked because 20 is plenty loud enough for me and i have a 560 Watt Logitech 5300e (as seen in photos) and my bose headphones produce plenty of noise canceling juice on 15!!!!!
This product is absoluetly phonominal, and it beats the iPod by SOOOO MUCH!!!
I recommend this product to a music love, i promise you will like it (especially when you're library is over 5,000 songs :])
It has the Social button in the menu that allows you to find friends, share music, and see if your' friends are online using the Wi-Fi connection!!!!
(Not even available on iPod touch!!! Big Whop you can web browse, ohhh i'm suprised, but you have Wi-Fi either way, PLUS this is 80 GB vs. 8 GB yeah.)
Plus all the great features on the zune, which are freaking amazing, I'm 15 btw. and i love my music.
Anyways, i hope that this helps.
Thanks,
Alex

Easy Touch pad, 80 gb, easy to use, cool device layout, FM RAdio, File Sharing, How is an ipod better then this?
Only a true owner of a Zune can tell you how good they are. Dont listen to those ipoders, odds are they never had a zune.
I started out with a 30 gb zune right when they came out but dropped it into a pool so i got the 80 gb. I loved both of them. Now my sister got a 4 gb and she loves it to. They are honestly alot better then ipods especially in screen size by like 500 %.

The zune is one of the best mp3 players I have ever had. It has a lot of much needed space to put whatever I need on there and more. It can store my favorite videos, pictures, and even my favorite radio stations. It's perfect, for me of course, because I love music and like to have a lot of music on hand whenever and wherever I need it. Most times with the Ipod, I couldn't do that. I feel like with the zune the sky is the limit to my music needs. The only thing I don't like is how there is no clock.

Pretty Good Player

This player is a pretty good player for its money. Its got a huge (80 GB) storage capacity, snappy processor, and a big 3.2 inch LCD screen. But, it does have some bugs. The screen resolution is not too good sometimes, for one. I hate to see pixels, and sometimes that happens, but its not worth throwing this idea out the window. When I got this product in December '07 (I got the black one) their software still had some major flaws to work out. The software installed fine the first time, but then my computer crashed and I had to reinstall it, and it refused to install. It would always go on "searching for updates" and then not work (it would give me some error code). So, naturally, i figured to call Microsoft's customer service. I was on the phone for about 3 hours (on Christmas day) and at the end they told me that I had reached the end of the line. Then I asked for his boss and he told me he didn't have one. He then got very snippy with me and told me basically to return the Zune and that it was a problem with my computer. I searched on the internet and found that many other people had the same problem... weird. Then my computer crashed again (my computer is awful) and it worked. Very strange...

I really do love my zune player, more than an ipod because its the same price but it also has a radio and games. The only thing i don't like is that is doesn't support all video file types so you have to convert them. And, my original zune crashed when i tried to plug it into the stereo, so i had to send it in to microsoft. They couldn't repair it so they sent me a brand new one, and I've loved it ever since.

It's a good player. I like it a lot more the IPod. You get as big a screen as the ITouch but the HD of the classic IPod. It's difficult to organize your playlists and It's battery only lasts about a day and a half. Other than that it really is a good player with all of the features of an IPod plus some.

This ipod is outstanding!! There are no hidden agendas like some other devices-it is what you see is what you get. You can relax & enjoy your music for hours. The other features is a plus, videos without having to go out of the way to view them, photos!! wow!! what a accessible tool in just a click away. The price for this device is exceptional. This is the new advance of our generation tool; you don't have to buy 3 or 4 devices to get all the features.

This is an overall good buy for anyone as i said.. If you like to watch movies, get this product. If you listen to A LOT of music, get this product.. It is loaded with memory, and will hold many songs and movies. The head phones that it comes with are better then any i have ever owned.. It is expensive but to me it is worth it, also it will last you a long while. You may have to break open your piggy bank, I did, but it was well worth it when i got to using it everyday for at least an hour.

I purchased the first generation 30B Zune about three years ago and it was hands down the best purchase I have made. I owned three sansas before purchasing the Microsoft Zune. All three of the sansas corrupted leading to file loss which caused me hours of hassle trying to fix the thing.
I have yet to have an issue with my Zune and am looking to upgrade to the new generation 80 GB. My boyfriend has the second generation 4GB and I have used it and love it. The touch feature is nice, but not practical for someone like me who likes the convience of sticking my zune in my pocket when I am on my college campus.
The only "con" I can really think of is the fact that there are not many available accessories for the Zune. There are tons of accessories for Ipod, but Zune is lacking. However, I have yet to really find this to be an issue since most of what you need for your zune can be purchased from the Microsoft accessory line for Zune. As far as lower priced accessories, these are few and far between and are often not worth the savings (The Universal ITrip is a good example, terrible product for Zune).
The only other thing I can say about this product is that the interface of the Zune software can be somewhat confusing and a bit of daunting task to learn at first. It is unlike anything Microsoft has ever released, but once you get the hang of it is a great product. The first generation had an interface very similar to the windows media player, and while I liked this interface better being familiar with WMP, the second generation, updated software has many more features.
The player itself is very pleasing to the eye, the available color options and ability to customize background are great for someone who loves to personalize things.
Fantastic purchase on my part. I would recommend this product to anyone who likes the Microsoft brand and is looking for a sturdy, asthetically pleasing, and easy to use product.

I was EXTREMELY hesitant to buy a Zune. I was so close to buying an 80GB Ipod simply because I was afraid that nothing would be as simple as itunes. I previously owned an ipod nano (4gb) and wanted to upgrade - and boy am I happy I chose the Zune. I read a few reviews that made me think more than twice, including one that said that the screen does not look as good as you would think because even though it is bigger, the resolution is the same as that of the 80GB ipod. Well, I can tell you that I think the screen looks AWESOME.
One thing about the Zune is that if you try to put a movie on it you must make sure that it is converted to the exact type the zune requires. For example, I converted an avi to a wmv file because the zune takes wmv - but my zune tried re-converting it because the file was not exactly how it needed it to be. It took FOREVER. Make sure you have software that has settings specifically for the zune and sychronizing to your zune will be smooth and fast.
Setting your own wallpaper is great, and the Zune will play a photo slideshow while your music is playing.
All in all, I'm so happy I decided to go with the Zune. :)

I bought the 80 GB Zune a year ago at Christmas time. This is an awesome MP3 player. Easy to use. Great software, and lots of storage. It is well worth the price. If you are looking for an MP3 player with lots of storage, this is the one. You won't be disappointed.

The zune totally blows ipod outta the water. I had a nano before this and it was always giving me problems. I have about a fourth of the memory taken up so far and its still going the same speed as the day i bought it. when the ipod got full, it would start slowing down. Not here. and the thumb pad is just cool to use. It comes with really good headphones and makes the music sound amazing. The only problem is theres no equilizer on the 80gb like on the 30gb, but other than that, its perfect.

Worst Software ever!

Like I said, this is a great product when it works. I like the overall setup BETTER than the iPod.
That being said, this awesome device is plagued with the WORST software known to man, but wait, IT GETS BETTER! Microsoft does not know how to update the stupid thing! Currently my 80GB Red Zune is a very expensive paperweight, with my old 30GB iPod Video getting all the attention again, because the device refuses to update to 3.0. I use to get an unknown error, but ever since the great tech support service helped me out (I'm being sarcastic there) instead of getting the unknown error, it keeps saying that the installation of the device is at 100% but is still installing, and stayed that way for well over 4 hours (I had done a hard reset of my device well before this).
If you're looking to throw away your money, here you go. Other than that, go with an iPod, because at least everything works right, even if the screen gets ridiculously scratched up.

This zune is one of the best zunes made so far I have the 80 GB zune and the video shows great, the music plays great this is a must buy at best buy. The pictures show clear and there so much to offer with this 80 GB zune. Theres also extra things you can buy for your zune like a special clothe that you can clean your screen with, and an on-the-go charger which allows you to charge and listen to your zune at the same time this is a great birthday, christmas or just because gift for you or the people you love. This is a great piece of technology I highly recommend you buy it.

Music player without the bass...

I used to be a DIEHARD zune fan. i owned a 30 gig which DID have an equalizer, which made it the PERFECT music player. radio is a big plus for me cause i like the morning talk shows and stuff. buttt. when my 30 went kaputz, i exchanged it, but i realized they discontinued it. i had to upg to 80 gig... which didnt have an equalizer cause they wanted to save "battery life". i dont see why i would worry about that... because i dont use one anymore. it angered me cause it was by MY specifications and needs, the perfect mp3/movie player ever. now.. i joined the dark side... (ipod) and have to suffer without radio... but the bass boost is a must.... oh yea.. and by the way.. that screen cracks easier than a pair of chapped lips in antartica...(cant get it replaced for that...) im out 250$ now..

Another Windows Disaster

I bought the Zune not realizing it was a Windows product. I was all excited because I thought it was a great deal for 80 GB of space. Well, that didn't last long. I installed the software (that was where I realized it was a Windows product) and went downhill from there. Vista wouldn't recognize the Zune. I tried 7 different USB ports on my computer and not one would recognize it. Reading through the troubleshooting guide, I realized I needed to download the SP1 for Vista. Did that, it still didn't work. Took it to work and tried it on an XP computer. Same problem. Took the stupid thing back that night. I HATE WINDOWS!!!!

i have had mine for about 6 months now and love it, i have yet to find something that i really dont like about it. i like the now playing feature which lets you create and/or add to playlists while away from a computer. one thing that they should have thought of maybe doing was allowing you to save it as a playlist, but for me its not a big deal. battery life some people rate poorly, but i dont watch all that many movies when im traveling so it lasts more then enough for me.

I have had my Zune for a couple of weeks and I love it. Its user friendly, its very easy to upload your music, videos or pictures. Any of the pictures that you upload can be used as your background. One thing that I thought was cool was that when you take out your headphones, either by accident or on purpose, it automatically pauses the song so that you dont miss a thing.
