Check out our video walk-through of an in-store consultation.
Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our customers and employees. That’s why, as we re-open select Best Buy stores, we’re taking the following precautions to help prevent the spread of illness and keep everyone safe:
- To limit foot traffic and maintain social distancing within stores, we’re currently allowing customers in the store by consultation appointment only
- We will adhere to CDC-recommended guidelines,1 along with taking additional safety precautions throughout your in-store consultation
- Below, you’ll find out how to set up your consultation, along with important safety measures taken before, during and after your Best Buy store visit
Scheduling your in-store consultation.
1. Find a Best Buy store near you that's accepting appointments
2. Schedule your appointment in advance.
Note: We recommend you pre-book your appointment at least 1 to 2 days in advance. This will allow us sufficient time to contact you with a pre-call prior to your appointment to discuss your needs and inform you of our safety procedures. No pre-call will be made for same-day appointments.
If the date/time of your appointment request is not available, you may:
3. Appointment confirmation and reminders.
Shortly after booking your appointment, you will receive an email confirmation, along with subsequent reminders of your appointment.
4. Pre-appointment phone call.
A Best Buy team member will call you 1 to 2 days prior to your appointment to discuss your needs and to explain the consultation process, safety protocols and expectations.
At the time of your pre-appointment phone call we will:
What to expect during your in-store consultation.
1. Arrival and check-in.
Visit the front of the store at your scheduled appointment time to check in. If there is a wait time, you will be guided back to your car and alerted via call or text (if you’ve opted in) when we are ready to begin your consultation. During check-in, a Best Buy team member will confirm the objectives of your consultation, introduce the team member assigned to assist you, and review our safety procedures. Hand sanitizer wipes will be available at check-in.
2. Your shopping experience.
When entering the store, you can be assured that employee health checks have been performed prior to every shift, along with implementation of other safety procedures, such as the Best Buy team member wearing a mask and gloves. While the Best Buy team member assists you during your shopping experience, they will maintain social distancing and other safety guidelines, including explaining how to safely handle and demo products and equipment.
3. Store pricing.
We use BestBuy.com pricing for in-store consultations, so please download the Best Buy app for use during your visit.2
4. Face masks and face coverings.
For your safety and the safety of our staff, we ask that you please bring and wear a face mask or face covering that covers your nose and mouth during your consultation. Note that some local mandates require face coverings to be worn by customers; please ensure you are following any such mandates in the location of the Best Buy store you will be visiting. If you do not have your own face covering, we will provide one for your use while in the store.
Completing your transaction.
Safety guidelines will be maintained throughout the checkout process, including social distancing, PIN/signature pads cleaned before and after each interaction, and acrylic shields at all cash registers.
2. Loading products into your vehicle.
If you require assistance carrying or loading large or heavy products into your vehicle, our team members will be happy to assist you. You will be required to open your door, trunk or tailgate so that Best Buy team members can refrain from touching your vehicle while loading your products.
2. Excludes Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico uses store pricing.
