DISCLAIMER: I only play my Switch in hand held mode. I sold off my dock, so my experiences are 100% hand held. If you want to know about the content in the game, there are plenty of reviews that cover that. I'm only doing this for the 50% of Switch owners who use this device as a pure handheld, like myself.
I'm not sure how many bugs were in the other versions. I have a gaming PC, but I waited to get this game on my Switch. Anyway, this game runs very poorly on the Switch. The first thing you'll notice is the horrendous loading times. It's not uncommon to see 30 second loading times after just 2-3 screens.
Also, the framerate is very poor. For a handheld device that can run Skyrim flawlessly, this is an embarrassment. Frequent frame drops plague this game. They can happen at any time, but mostly while the camera is panning during cutscenes. You'll also notice frame dips when the game gets hectic during intense battles.
The game also has rampant, game breaking bugs. I have run into 2 so far. 13 hours into the game, I went through an alley shortcut and immediately upon my screen loading, I paused and saved my game. Yes, this is a bug that happened during me saving my game. When the game saved and came back to the play screen, my character was completely different. I went from a white kid with a goatee, glasses and fully dressed in the Assassin's Creed outfit, to a bald, black kid with a gold crown, and a red cape. Also, the game reset my game timer to zero, like I had just started the game! This was 13 hours in! I'm so thankful this game has that "revolutionary" auto-save system, because that's the only reason I didn't lose my 13 hours of progress.
The other massive glitch that I have come across is during a mission for a female superhero. She is waiting outside the cell phone store, waiting for the hero character to come up to her so they can go into the store and complete the mission. Every time I go into the store the game freezes on the loading screen. It's not quite a hard freeze though because I can still hear the sound effects. I have tried to get into the store and continue with this mission several different times across several different hours. I would play a little more of the game and go back to her and try to get in again, and the same thing happens. I'm slowly realizing that I'm never going to be able to finish this quest, which is just awful.
Again, this isn't a full review of the game, just about the Switch version, and these problems may exist while the console is docked, I'm not sure. Good luck out there, and maybe wait to pick this one up until they get a few patches out the door for the Switch version before dropping your hard earned cash.
