Poor port for the hand held crowd, bugs/glitches

DISCLAIMER: I only play my Switch in hand held mode. I sold off my dock, so my experiences are 100% hand held. If you want to know about the content in the game, there are plenty of reviews that cover that. I'm only doing this for the 50% of Switch owners who use this device as a pure handheld, like myself. I'm not sure how many bugs were in the other versions. I have a gaming PC, but I waited to get this game on my Switch. Anyway, this game runs very poorly on the Switch. The first thing you'll notice is the horrendous loading times. It's not uncommon to see 30 second loading times after just 2-3 screens. Also, the framerate is very poor. For a handheld device that can run Skyrim flawlessly, this is an embarrassment. Frequent frame drops plague this game. They can happen at any time, but mostly while the camera is panning during cutscenes. You'll also notice frame dips when the game gets hectic during intense battles. The game also has rampant, game breaking bugs. I have run into 2 so far. 13 hours into the game, I went through an alley shortcut and immediately upon my screen loading, I paused and saved my game. Yes, this is a bug that happened during me saving my game. When the game saved and came back to the play screen, my character was completely different. I went from a white kid with a goatee, glasses and fully dressed in the Assassin's Creed outfit, to a bald, black kid with a gold crown, and a red cape. Also, the game reset my game timer to zero, like I had just started the game! This was 13 hours in! I'm so thankful this game has that "revolutionary" auto-save system, because that's the only reason I didn't lose my 13 hours of progress. The other massive glitch that I have come across is during a mission for a female superhero. She is waiting outside the cell phone store, waiting for the hero character to come up to her so they can go into the store and complete the mission. Every time I go into the store the game freezes on the loading screen. It's not quite a hard freeze though because I can still hear the sound effects. I have tried to get into the store and continue with this mission several different times across several different hours. I would play a little more of the game and go back to her and try to get in again, and the same thing happens. I'm slowly realizing that I'm never going to be able to finish this quest, which is just awful. Again, this isn't a full review of the game, just about the Switch version, and these problems may exist while the console is docked, I'm not sure. Good luck out there, and maybe wait to pick this one up until they get a few patches out the door for the Switch version before dropping your hard earned cash.

I have enjoyed South Park FBH when I originally gotten my hands on it. It's funny, full of crude jokes of all sorts which makes it great. The gameplay is solid and best of all it finally came to the switch. Problem is I can't play the game at all until there is a patch released. I haven't been able to make any progress. My issue is that there are bugs that make the game a nuisance, and there is one particular bug in the game with call girl where you get a never ending load screen. I am all for supporting developers but this was a poor port that should have spend more time being worked on. I say hold off on buying the switch version until there is a patch for the game. Otherwise pick it up for another console. I'm not happy that I paid more than $40 for this game when it has been on sale for other platforms for a third of retail price. You may want to wait a while before buying this I have had the game since release and there has been no patch released or even any mention of one from the developer. Switch version gets 3 out of 5 for now until the game breaking bugs are all patched.

Good, but fairly short, even with DLC

I was excited to play this game since I never played it on other consoles or PC. The game plays well on the Switch, but there was a known bug that prevented a specific mission from being played (and thereby freezing the game). This was not resolved, along with game save deletion issues, until a couple weeks after it was reported on Ubisoft support forums. After the patch, things are good, but the game is completed faster than I expected it would. In general, it is a fun game, especially if you are a South Park fan. But take into account that this game will probably be beaten relatively quickly compared to other adventure games.

This a fantastic game for RPG fans. I was hoping since the game is full price though, that it would at least come with the already released DLC but it does not. That does not part of my review though, the only real problem is very minor performance issues. Occasionally the frame rate drops but its not game hindering at all. I also got to a side quest where the game freezes at the loading screen. I tried it many times, even going ahead and doing other side quests and even some main quests and it still will not load. I am sure a patch will come eventually because Ubisoft does patch their games on Switch the only question is when.

My review is a little biased because I’m a HUGE South Park fan, but I really loved Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole. I do have a little nostalgia for Stick so I don’t like Fractured as much, but I do feel it greatly improved on the combat and some of the story. I do miss collecting Chinpokomon though. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the Switch version is the best. If you haven’t played it before and only have Switch, you should definitely try it, especially if you love South Park. There’s weird loading times between battles that wasn’t present in the Xbox/PS4 versions.

This is a pretty fun game, but I'm most impressed by the fact that it feels like you're playing an actual episode of South Park. Same level of crude and crass jokes (note to parents, all profanities are used), and there are plenty of great call-backs to the shows. The gameplay is good, but not great, but the overall presentation is top notch. Highly recommended for South Park fans. Everyone else should watch a review before purchasing.

If you are a southpark fan this game doesnt dissapoint. Lots of funny phrases, cool cutscenes.. you get to create your own southpark character to play as. I really enjoy the game and havent finished it yet, i smile and laugh the entire time i play it each time. I never played the stick of truth but if its as good as this one ill be playing that one too.

Happy to see the switch getting 3rd party love, and I made sure to support the massive corporate publisher. Seriously though, it's important that publishers see the switch as a viable platform. This game is pretty great, but it does seem to have some serious slowdown as certain points in handheld mode. Also the loading times are a bit long, but honestly nothing too bad yet.
