Star Fox Comes to Starlink
||Posted .Was surprised Star Fox was used so heavily in this game. Love the details to environments and weapons. Everything is a joy to explore, especially the derelict ship wreckage in space. Lots of bugs and the autosave feature shows no indication it's working, so sometimes you'll lose progress when you exit the game. If you enjoy space exploration, then this game is for you.

No mans sky meets Starfox
||Posted .If you love space exploration/shooter games than Starlink Battle for Atlas is for you! This game is comprised of huge open worlds, great bosses (primes) and a plethora of starfox content in the switch version of the game! The included arwing accessory for the joy con grip is amazing and makes you feel like your manning the ship! With the added portability factor of the switch this is a shooter game you should not sleep on especially if you’re a starfox fan!

Explore Open World
|Posted .I'm old enough to say the first video game I played was Pong. The home version came out for Christmas back in 1975 through Sears. Boy has time changed things quite a bit since then. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an open-world space saga that features modular toy technology that allows players to assemble and customize real-world physical starships, link the starships to their game controller, and launch into an epic adventure across the Atlas star system, either in single player or with a friend in two-player split-screen local co-op mode. It is available on the Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. To get started with Starlink: Battle for Atlas, you purchase a platform-specific starter edition. In addition to the game, you get a spaceship that can connect to your gaming controller as well as a couple possible pilots and some weapons. Who and what is connected to your controller has a real effect on what is shown in the gaming screen. In addition to the starter edition hardware, you can purchase additional startship packs which have other space ships and additional pilot and weapons packages which allow you to add more abilities and powers to the game. All of these attach through a set of connectors so the game can detect what it should show on the screen. If you look at the attached picture, you'll see a connector on the back of the different elements which fit into a slot like the one on the controller up top. The pilot will sit inside the cockpit while the two weapons will sit on top of the plane. The wings are even interchangable, too, if you like the wings from one spaceship and the body from another. Once the spaceship is configured as desired, you're ready for exploration in the game. The world your child plays within in Starlink is an open world with an enormous amount of areas to explore. The environment is rated E for everyone, with a target market of roughly 8-11, so it is a safe place for them to explore, and not a kiddie environment, so they feel more "grown up" playing the game, though without any blood and guts spread around with all the shooting. And, you always have a marker in the game to help tell you where you can go explore to fight the dreaded legion. They'll enjoy the puzzles to solve and the interplanetary quests. While the Switch starter kit comes with a Fox McCloud pilot, Arwing ship, and an exclusive mission, part of the enjoyment of playing Starlink: Battle for Atlas is the ability to swap out your weapons, wings, and pilots to create all kinds of interesting contraptions, even placing elements backwards or upside-down. The ability to do all this swapping does add to the overall cost of playing, but you can spread out that cost over time and not get everything at once. My eleven year old is probably at the upper age really for playing. Starlink is still fun for him, but at least for now, Fortnite keeps his interest more due to its online cooperative game play. There is a cooperative mode with Starlink, but players must be in the room together playing splitscreen vs. being online. I'll have to wait and see how much his friends want to play together when they visit. Surely a fun game to entertain, especially for someone with an interest in space and rockets.

MINE INCLUDED THE GAME
||Posted .GUYS, the scare is over. Mine came with the game itself. Many have had their pre orders come without the game itself. My guess is that there was a bad batch, but as far as I know, the problem has been resolved! The game is AMAZING and absolutely stunning. Especially since Starfox is in the game.

Star Fox! So far game is great, awesome dialog!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. So I purchased this game when it was on sale with Mario VS Rabbids for $30. I had been debating it for awhile, but since it has the Star Fox characters in it and came with an Arwing Model for $15. I had to jump on it! So far it's a fun game with an amazing Star Fox dialog element. Haven't gotten too far into it yet and it's taking me awhile to get used to the controls, but it's definitely got some fun to it, especially for $15!

A Switch game you can play.
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Got the game for my son to play and so far he likes it. I told him about the character from Starfox and he quickly got interested in playing it. So far he’s enjoying it and right now he is asking to buy him the extra accessories to have his plane leveled up. As an adult I love the nostalgia of playing Fox from Starfox. You can’t also beat the sale price.

Cool gift idea!
|Posted .Searching for cool Christmas gifts for my nine-year-old son isn’t easy. He’s almost beyond the toy stage and has just about everything possible in his bedroom closet, so finding something that will pique his interest and excite him for the holidays is definitely a challenge. This year, I discovered Starlink Battle for Atlas for his Nintendo Switch video game system. He is constantly playing something on the Nintendo Switch, whether we are at home or in the car and this is one game that he doesn’t already have so it’s perfect! He loves a video game that provides action and cool characters or scenarios and the Starlink Battle for Atlas game has it all! We actually didn’t wait until Christmas to experience this new game and considered it an early Christmas present…I’m so glad we did!

Q: QuestionCan I use the accessories (ship, pilots) with a Starlink game of another console? Are the accessories interchangeable between PS4-Switch-XBone versions, like the LEGO Dimensions figures were back in the day?
Asked by DarthStaalwart.
- A:Answer You can but I don’t think the Arwing or Fox will work on anything but the Switch.
Answered by Johnny
Q: QuestionCan you buy this ship and starfox without the game
Asked by Crystar.
- A:Answer The only way you can get the Star Fox Arwing, figures that go with it, and the special Nintendo Switch controller mount is by purchasing the game digitally and asking Ubisoft to send you the Starter Pack which comes with the Arwing, the figures, and the special Nintendo Switch mount without the physical copy of the game. Other than that, you have to get the Nintendo Switch Starter Pack with the said accessories and the physical copy of the game in-store.
