Toshiba - Canvio Connect 500GB External USB 3.0/2.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black

This is really a great product that I am so glad I bought. I wanted something to back up all my treasured pictures and important files. I'm not too comfortable with the idea of cloud storage yet and after watching several friends' computers crash unexpectedly and their owners lose everything, I knew it was time to get some peace of mind. I did some research and decided on this Toshiba Canvio 500GB Connect (I got white to match my Macbook!). This product is so ridiculously easy to use, I was surprised that it's pretty much just a big flash drive. You copy everything you want to save and paste it to the external hard drive without using any kind of software. That's it. I backed up all my pictures, music, and documents and it all only took up a small fraction of space on this external hard drive. I thought the speed was just fine. And it's so small and lightweight that it doesn't clutter my desk. It's kind of pretty looking too, I think. I can't believe I waited so long to buy an external hard drive and I'm glad I went with this one. It does its job and does it well. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to rest easy knowing that when their computer crashes (they all do eventually) their treasured files (pictures!) are safe.

Does what I needed - an easy to use plug and play external drive to store files that are ussed infrequently. However, the plug and play feature makes to easy to use as an extension of the PC hard drive.

This is my frist portable hard drive and so far its great !
