Good range and clarity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone system is very good because of its voice quality and range. Another convenient feature is that only the base needs to be plugged into the phone line, and any extra handsets just connect to the base, so this is a great phone if you are looking to add a phone in a room that has no phone jack (you can place the base in one room and the phone with a charger in another.) I have also used it outside on our property, and have not run into any signal or static issues. (Since this phone is digital, it will either work with perfect clarity or not work at all - there is no in-between). The box advertised the encryption feature of this phone, however, do not be lulled into a sense of false security by it, as it is only 64 bit encryption and is very easy to crack (Your nosy neighbor with a radio scanner probably won't be able to eavesdrop on your conversations, but a sophisticated hacker can.) Of course, if you are worried about security, then you shouldn't use a wireless phone (Or a landline phone at all for that matter). If after purchasing this system, you find that you need extra handsets, you can purchase them seperately. By the way, this system also makes a great intercom. Only minor problem that I noticed is that the display seems to pick up deposits from human skin easily, but the phone is very easy to clean, as it does not have too many nooks and crannies. Also the buttons will not wear out from your fingers, as they are made from clear plastic and the numbers are printed on the other side. By the way, this phone does not operate at 6 GHz. You might say: But it says DECT 6.0 on the phone? Well, due to the fact that over time, the frequency of cordless phones has been generally increasing, people started thinking: bigger is better. So the marketing team at v-tech figured: well, numbers sell so we better give this a good number, and thus you have it DECT 6.0. The actual operating frequency is 1.9 GHz, which is very good, because it will not pick up interference from wifi and bluetooth and will not interfere with wifi and bluetooth.

Ancient Technology!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really dissappointed with this phone. Pick it up to answer a call and it keeps ringing. Hellooooooooooooo, it's 2011 already. You have to press the green button to answer the call, I didn't have to do that on the 5 year old panasonic I threw out when I got this one. Almost all the ringotnes are tacky (circa 1990) and irritating. The worst is the LCD display. It's an ugly green color and the letters are so tiny you can barely read them. Even worse, if there is a message on the answering system there is no visual cue to let you know, cept a tiny cassette tape icon, litterally smaller than a black ant. My panasonic has a blinking lite to let you know. And lets not leave out the speaker phone surprise; if you press the green button to switch to listening over the earpiece you hang up on your party. You need to press the lighted speaker phone button instead. Even worse is the fact that these idiots are still using proprietary batteries, at 20 bucks a pop you will pay for replacement batteries what it cost to purchase the phone. Panasonic now uses rechargable AA batteries which don't cost 20 bucks and are more readily accessible at most big box stores. OK but how's the reception? No complaints in this department. Reception is clear and loud and has a very good range, and I'm talking about going through concrete walls and steel girders here. So if you live in one of those condos that don't have any steel girders and have cheap dry wall corridors it will probably work all the way down to the lowest level in the parking garage. I will not buy vtech again, when these die I will replace them with Panasonic. The last vtech phone I had died exactly one week after the warranty expired.

Good phones for great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tend to use only my cell phone now but my wife likes to have a house phone for kids, convenience and emergency use. I didn't want to put too much money into these as they do not get as much use as our house phones used to. I am very happy with the sound quality and range of these phones. durability has yet to be determined as I have only had them for a month or so.

Great phone, good battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Slim phone, easy to handle with great speakerphone and sound. Set up was easy. Battery life is excellent. Handset will stay charged if off the base for 48 hours. Only drawback, did not come with headset plug in.

I love this Phone!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that I can be cooking and talking at the same time and the quality of the speaker phone is great (adjustable volume). Also, I can call my son at his room using the intercom feature (No more screaming! parents, you know what I'm talking about!).
