Favorite action game on xbox 360 so far

Got this at Best Buy just recently.
I am about 25% of the way through this game so far and I can't tell you how good this game really is. The voice actors are great (especially the Joker). Its fun to watch even if you are not playing. It has lots of small things done right, and it makes it feel like they didn't just piece something together.
Difficulty is appropriate. Teen rating is appropriate for the game so I don't have to worry about keeping the kids out quite as much.
I've played a LOT of games so it is saying a lot when I say it is my favorite action game to date for the xbox 360. It is not nearly as difficult as Ninja Gaiden 2 but is plenty difficult for the hardcore gamer. Unless you just hate Batman, get this game!

Pros: This game catches you in right off the bat. It is very easy to get the controls down. I like how you get different gadgets as you go through the game. It makes it easier to remember which gadget is which button. The bad guys in the game are very simple right off the bat and I was worried that they would not get any tougher, but they do by adding various weapons. The bosses are set at a good difficulty and are tough enough that they could take a couple times to beat, but easy enough that you are not spending too much time trying to beat one boss
The only Cons are that it is $60 which is a con for every new Xbox 360 game. Also, the game is so in-depth that I do not see myself playing the game again.

Very good action game, with RPG elements.
Arkham Asylum has a very smooth combat system, allowing combos on single enemies, which is standard, but after an enemy is knocked down or subdued, you're allowed to continue the combo by flipping, jumping, or turning around to immediately hit another enemiy, and moves are varied so combat never gets tiring, and always entertains with different situations, and later on you can often incorporate some of the Dark Knights gadgets into hand to hand combat.
When you can't risk, or prefer a stealthier combat you can climb up to gargoyles placed at the top of many of the rooms you're in to pick off enemies one by one. Enemies react differently in each situation, and have a fear level to determine their actions as well. If an enemy is terrified, he'll be more likely to back into a corner to be able to see eveerything, and less likely to follow his comrades to investigate a downed comrade.
There are also many puzzles to solve from the Riddler, hidden around the entire island, with various clues and hints to show you where they are.
The game also has an XP system, allowing you to get XP from defeated enemies and solved riddles to upgrade your combat abilities and gadgets. You should be able to upgrade all the gadgets towards the end of the game, and some of them are really fun, such as the explosive gel you can use to knock walls over to subdue enemies or make them fall through holes in the floor.
There are also many extras to find such as patient interview tapes and biography info, as well as character trophies to view character models. Throughout the game you also unlock challenges that you can access from the main menu, such as fighting enemies without getting hit and trying to get the highest possible combo, or trying to take out a roomful of enemies which you need to take out in certain ways. After each challenge you complete you get a rating and a score, the score is posted to High Score board so you can compete for the highest rating.
Overall Arkham Asylum is a great game, but I didn't have much enthusiasm for a second playthrough, though the achievements and finding everything would be a good reason, because there's plenty to find and achievements for different difficultys.
I'd definitely recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a good action game, with slight RPG elements and puzzles to solve anyone can find something to enjoy in this game.

Let me start by saying the graphics and the voices of the characters are great. I’m almost half way though the game and the game play is very solid. The controls are easy to pick up, learning to fight, block and counter takes no time. The x-ray vision is great it really help you pick out and pinpointing the enemies. There is one part of the game that had me thinking my Xbox was going on the blink but it was part of the game so stay cool. The game map is pretty huge but you’ll be able to find your way with no problem of you could pull up the map. There is also the combat challenge but I haven’t started them yet. There is no online but is not the end of the world.

What a Batman game should be

This is by far one of the best games I've played in a long time after Gears of War 2 and Bioshock. The graphics are insane! It's like watching a movie. Plus the story and the acting is awesome. If you didn't know, the voices are actually the voices from Batman: The Animated Series which I really dug. I haven't beat the game yet so I can't really comment on the length. The unlockables, achievements and the upgrades are all fun to do. I thought the fighting would get repeatitive, but it's actually quite fun if you string the combos together. Overall, this is how a Dark Knight game should be: dark, sinister, and action packed.

If you're a fan of Batman whether comics or movies you'll love this game. You feel like The Dark Knight himself hanging and swinging from Gargoyles, searching for clues with your high tech gadgets to your next destination and using your batarangs to fight your enemies.Sometimes the 360 degree camera can get in the way of you looking for clues but that's a minor problem. Some of the boss fights are not that challenging. It may take you a couple of times before you get the pattern down for the boss fights. There is no multiplayer, but it has a leaderboard challenge,to pin your scores against other players who have the game. The music sounds like something from Metal Gear because it sets the mood for whatever situation you're in.Whether enemies are looking for you,or boss fights. The voices of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker are very well done. The controls are tight, this is not just some button-mashing game. There are specific buttons you have to press for certain types of enemies. So if you're a fan of Batman pick this game up.

This game is absolutly fabulous. The gameplay is SOOO smooth. You can create combo's that go on for days. A kick here, a choke there, and a punch there, and you got a lethal combo waiting to happen. The jokes and cut scenes (script) are very good. Some cheesy jokes, but thats how the joker tells 'em. The script and plot is actually so good, they could make batman three or four into this, no dougt. The side quests like the riddler tropheys, are actually fun to search for. The game has great graphics. From the island to gotham, the grapics keep your attention. If you think that you are only in the asylum, you are wrong. You swing and run all across Arkham island, fighting goons, maniacs, and a lot of batmans villians. Such as Bane, Killer Croc, Scarecrow (Killian Murphy from Batman One), and so much more that you will recognize immediattly. You will also see villians that you didn't know about from the comic books (don;t want to spoil). The ONLY bad part about this game is it can get a bit repetitive. Like the vents and the gargoyles, but even that is'nt a big deal. If you want a batman game that opens up an island worth of fun and excitement, Get ready to get schooled with Batman: Arkham asylam!! (Yes, i came up with that)

I purchased Batman: Arkham Asylum expecting a great game, and came out thrilled that it was oh-so more. The gadgets, fight combos, and super villains- it's all here. Mark Hamills' voice acting as The Joker is just as, if not more well done than in the cartoon. The game is spent trying to stay one step ahead of Batmans arch nemesis as he attemps to take over Arkham and they really did a great job progressing the downfall of any hope coming Batmans way- you are truly the last hope. Problems with the game include some weak boss battles and a short campaign. I played on Normal and had no problems beating the game in under 8 hours. There are, however Riddler puzzles and fight challenges to beat to try and keep the player going, but for me that just wasn't enough after beating the story.
Overall Batman is hands down the best Action game this year and the best comic book game that I know of. Definitely worth a play-through. And gliding as Batman could possibly be the coolest thing ever.
