This wide-angle zoom lens lets you get the whole picture with your Canon EOS SLR digital cameras. It captures a wide field of view, yet zooms to 11" for focusing on a particular subject.

Posted by: rogerwilco357 from Dearborn Heights on 03/30/2013Love this wide angle lens glad I saved my money instead of just buying the 17-40L at f4.0 and went with this 2.8 wide L lens just an awesome lens.
now to find a haze filter that is slim and not 400.00 dollars but protects my investment. It also completes my lineup was missing the wide angle shots but now with the 85Lmk2 for portraits and the 70-200mk2 for everything else I am in Bokeh heaven. Another thing I like is the way they hold their value unlike the camera body which seems to loose money at an alarming rate in one year my 5d2 lost 1000.00 just becuase the 5d3 came out lol. This lens won't loose but 100.00 if that in 2 years ..anyhoot buy one you won't be disappointed just happy at the shots it delivers on your FF camera.

It's an L, a great wide/super wide lens

Posted by: Theaterwiz from Ohio on 05/16/2012I am not a pro, shoot a few things on the side and recently sold all my junk laying around I have not used in years to clean my camera bag out and restock with L-Glass.
What a difference! If you are a serious shooter, save your money for L-Glass, you cannot go wrong. This baby is sharp and the color and contrast is really nice, focus is super fast.
I am using this on a 1.6 sensor so it is not as wide as my 10-22 on this body but I plan on upgrading to full frame soon, don't tell my fiance!
Read the reviews, it's a great lens

Love the lens

Posted by: Coriolanus from Hillsborough, NC on 09/07/2011Needed a wide angle lens. This fit the bill perfectly. It does have some slight vignetting at the wide end but for me that's an aesthetic I like. Only had it for a month or so so can't really talk about durability but it handles and feels as well built as many of my other exceptional canon lenses.

Posted by: Doxzilla from Wilmington, NC on 06/14/2010If you know photography slightly past the amateur, the Canon L series lenses are phenomenal. This super wide opens up well for low light and the images you can pull off are amazing. There is so much potential in wide angle lenses, from excellent depth of field to really unique distorted shots. Best Buy offers it at a great price! A+

Pros: Very Sharp!, wide angle on ff, fixed wide aperture, sharpness contrast build quality, sharp amp
Cons: Cost lot of money, big expensive filter, corner sharpness not 100, also bit long, 82mm gripe geeze
