SynopsisIn the far reaches of space, the USG Ishimura, an immense mining ship, encounters a mysterious alien artifact. For reasons nobody back on Earth understands, the ship's communications are cut off abruptly. On the assumption that it is a mere technical glitch, engineer Isaac Clarke is dispatched to the scene to repair the ship's communications array. But instead of an equipment snafu, what Clarke finds is a scene of horror beyond his imagination. The ship is a floating bloodbath, its crew mutilated and infected by a terrifying alien force. Now Clarke is engaged in a fierce battle for his own survival. Will he be able to escape with his own life and limbs intact, or is he doomed to become the alien scourge's next victim?Travel to a remote star system for heart-stopping terror in Dead Space. Intricately rendered graphics draw you into the nightmarish deep-space carnage, made all the more horrific by the game's wrenchingly scary pace and panic-inducing audio. Experience terror in zero-gravity as you battle against relentless enemies bent on your mutilation. Fight back with a campaign of strategic dismemberment, wielding powerful weapons to shear off limbs and neutralize the enemy. This game has been out for quite a while now but I have recently just completed the campaign. I decided to finally play it because I was in the mood to play a new Resident Evil game but there's not one yet. I decided I would finally give this game a shot in the meantime. After playing the game I do have to say that I enjoyed the game a bunch. As a fan of Resident Evil, I enjoyed the gameplay and atmosphere very much so. Im not saying that DS copies RE but you have to admit that they share a few similarities.
In my opinion Dead Space features the best made environment and atmosphere in a survival-horror game. You can tell that the developer put a lot of effort to create a game that entertained and offered a chilling and thrilling experience. It delivers exactly that. You are stranded on a massive spaceship trying to find a way to escape while cutting the limbs off of creatures to survive.
This game is visually impressive. Even today it stands up really well. The gameplay is fun too. Shooting off limbs of enemies is a blast.
The story is probably my favorite in the genre as well. It not only pushes you along from objective to objective, but you actually want to know what happens next.
The only thing I didn't like about the game, though is that it can get a little repetitive after a while. You'll backtrack through the same areas now and then to complete an objective. It does make sense within the context of the story but it still is too bad that they didn't find a way to let you explore more areas of the massive ship.
I recommend this to anybody who hasn't played the game and feels like a good survival-horror challenge.

Scariest Thriller Game I wanted to Play!!!

I'm don't remember what enticed me to play this game in the first place, but I'm glad I did play this game. Probably, easily, top 10-20 games I've played ever, and I'm being conservative about that statement right now. It's a First Person Sci-fi Shooter/Thriller game, and it has the most unique gameplay I've seen in this genre. The way you kill the monsters, the way they appear out of nowhere, the lack of ammo that forces you to conserve ammo and question whether to shoot or melee, the unique upgrades to your weapon, the beautiful visuals of outer space that I haven't seen in a game yet, and the creepiness to the whole game makes this game a must play! I would keep on going on about this game, but I can't really describe it to you, you just have to experience it yourself. I rarely recommend games, but if you do find yourself buying this game and trying it for the first time, I have one advice. Play this at night, in pitch black, with only your television screen light on. You won't regret it!
