Over 80 hours into it and still want to play

I absolutely love this game. I'm over 80 hours into it and find the stories interesting and compelling. This is definitely a mature game for mature people. There is a lot of blood that gets thrown around the screen and it actually sticks to the characters. There are some "bedroom" scenes; so please be aware before letting your children see/play this game.
The story is extremely parallel to Lord of the Rings fare, which works to its advantage. I love the anticipation of building my character up enough to fight off dragons. I have found the game to be most enjoyable on the easiest difficulty setting, and still find myself dying from time to time.
Probably the most annoying thing for me is that it was definitely made with the PC as the target platform and there are some menu screens that don't work as well as they should because of it. In the menus, there is often a scrolling list which you cannot scroll through without highlighting every item which causes the items to be marked as read. It makes it difficult to go back through and read the ones you've missed because there is no way to scroll and see which ones are left to be read. Difficult to explain, but it was obviously made with the mouse in mind. They could have resolved the problem by forcing the list to scroll when the selection reached the middle, or by allowing the movement of one of the controller sticks scroll through without selecting.
While annoying, I certainly wouldn't avoid the game because of it. It plays great on the PS3 and sounds fantastic through a surround system.
I highly recommend this game. Beware if you have a family, it will suck many unintended hours away from you. You will need a minimum of an hour for each play session; otherwise you wont get anything accomplished. Be thankful for the save-anywhere anytime feature.

I felt like I was in the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy! (dwarves, elves, dragons, walking trees, a dark force sweeping over the land...) But I thought there were really creative storylines, and it has long playablity (I'm at hour 28 & I'll guess about 30% through the game) if you try to complete all the little side-quests. I'm sure if you just play it to get through the main storyline it would be a lot less time. But I love being immersed in this little world, really fun & definitely recommend for any experience level! I'm playing as an elven mage and next time plan to be a warrior, casting spells or sword slashing, there is something for everyone.

A Role Players Delight

Once I started playing this I can not stop. As a old time role player this is a GREAT game. It reminds me of some of the old role playing games I use to play on much older systems with up to date graphics and sound. It is not hard to figure out all the controls and I am very new to PS# games so that is a big plus> I have had hours of fun and still have not finished my first run through. The game has many options for skill level and roles to play so it will get played many more times.

Game is nice substitute from WoW and all those online jerks. If you want a game to just run about solo then this is it. It's not as repetitious as Oblivion but it lacks the open roam like in Fallout 3.
It is a nice change of pace and the battle system is easy to set up once you get used to it. You have a choice of characters to set up and what you want to specialize in. And you always seem to be getting people to choose from in your party to mix your combat group up.
As I said before though it lacks that open world wandering. I myself love to explore the world and look for new things and areas. This game however has a set path for you when you are out in about.
One thing it also doesn't have is any online or co-op play. I myself don't mind the online action but sometimes it would be nice while in a group battle to have a real person watching your back. A.I. sometimes targets something you don't want them targeting but that might be my set up. Still getting the feel for battle system.
All in all great game. Nice that there is expansion stuff out and as long as they keep doing that and little tweaks here and there the game will be fun to play for a long while.

Good Story and Fun

I am a big Oblivion and Fallout fan. It took me a while to embrace this game, comparing it to those two. Once I became familiar with the menu's and game play, I began to enjoy this game for it's differences.
The thing that captured me the most about this game is the development of your character and relationships with your party members. You are faced with choices that will drive the direction of your relationships throughout the game. This is one of the things that gives the game replay value for me (what if I choose this, or did that differently). This made me more engaged with my companions and I found myself chosing my party based upon the relationships and not the skill sets. The conversations between other party memebers as your traveling is telling and sometimes clever.
Graphically the game is under par for PS3, combat is typical for an RPG, digalog/reaction between characters is good.

Dragon Age: Origins will make a great addition to anyone's game collection. With an original storyline, different available game paths you can take, and the ability to customize your playing strategies, Dragon Age is one of the best games I have played. In addition, there are several available add-ons that you can download in order to keep the fun coming.
I will say that the graphics during gameplay are not what I was expecting. However, if you need state-of-the-art graphics in order to enjoy a game, then I think you would be better off buying a blu-ray movie.
My wife got me this game as a Christmas present and as she watched me play it she started to like it. Since then she has started to play on her own. Now, I have to battle her for the rights to play. This game, with no doubts, will provide you with hours of entertainment.

Dragon Age

Dragon Age Origins is my first venture into the realm of console RPG gaming, and it has not let me down. The characters and locales are memorable, the gameplay is a sinch, and there are virtually endless possibilities for quests and future expansions. I found myself doing a LOT of saving just in case I messed up a conversation that would get me an item or a codex, but this pales in comparison to all of the positive aspects of the game. I was skeptical of the product at first, but after trying a friend's copy of the game I was hooked! This is a wonderful game that will keep you coming back for more!
