The good wireless ip camera for the price

The camera is easy to set-up using the ipad (not sure if using a PC). Using the best (VGA) resolution setting, the video quality is quite good during daytime monitoring but is not so good with the nighttime infra red monitoring. The email alert function based on either the change of motion or temperature (on all the settings I have tried) gave at least several false alerts everyday. I guess the motion or temperature sensors is either too sensitive or not working the way it is supposed to be. Overall, it is a good security camera if you don't care too much about the alert function and it is good enough for what I need.

The camera is easy to set up and use. I set mine up to monitor my house from 8 to 4 on a daily basis and email me if if detected motion. Camera seems to be a bit sensitive to temperature change as this triggered the camera to email me. I then switched from motion to PIR (passive infra red) which seemed to be much more stable. Wish there was a control to adjust sensitivity for this as it would capture my cat strolling through the room and send me an email with a picture of my cat! The only real frustrating thing is the app that you use from a smartphone or tablet to view remotely. It crashes continually and is very frustrating. It is almost useless to use it in this mode. Seems like they need to get this piece working better. I went online looking for a solution to the problem and saw that many others were experiencing the same thing with no resolution in sight.

I like to check on my dogs when I am not home. I used to use a logitech HD webcam and the free Seedonk app. Picture quality was great but the camera was always going off line, pluc the PC had to always be on. This Lorex camera only needs and internet connection and power. No PC connection required. It works great! Even has sound and nightvision. I will be buying more!

Returned Lorex - faulty APP

The picture in daytime and at night was a good resolution and had no lag. Even a novice like myself was able to set up the IP camera wirelessly over my home network. Although my eBook reader would not read the bar code, I could manually set up the camera with its serial number both on my eBook reader through the lorex App and my desktop with the lorex software. Unfortunately the android APP that the lorex uses to connect to the camera over the internet would not connect the camera to me when I was at remote hotspots. It was for that reason that I returned the camera. What good is a surveillance camera that you can only connect to when you are on your home network.

This is a great camera for the price. What is nice is that it does not look like a camera. I can check my place out from anywhere I am which is nice. It would be great for any one with pets who wants to look in on them from time to time or if one could use it as a nanny cam. All and all, it is a great start up surveillance camera.

This camera has a great picture and sound. Works well indoors even in darkness. The Internet app works well and the viewing from my iPhone is excellent. I know for outdoors it states to mount outside for a good picture but I have two other cheaper cameras sitting in the window sill and they have great picture and video. This camera however is not good for that. All you see is white when pointing outside. I know it's probably light bouncing off the window but if cheaper cameras produce a good video, it seems this one would too. It's good for indoors though.

I wish I had purchased additional units. I hooked it up at home in just mere minutes to test it and then brought it to Thailand with me. I have it broadcasting fom here and it is amazing. I have numerous people in America watching live video from Thailand. It works fantastic in total darkness and the iPad/iPhone free apps are great. I will leave this one in Thailand and buy more cameras upon my return to the States in September.
