Synopsis

Synopsis
You went to Mario's last Party and had tons of fun — so much that you thought a gig like that couldn't be topped. Think again. The guests are all here — and so are the bosses. With a slew of exhilarating new features, modes and adventures that mix cooperative and competitive gameplay, Mario Party 9 delivers fun like you've never imagined. Put on your party pants.

Mario Party 9 takes the fun and excitement you know and love from the Mario Party series and kicks it up a notch. For the first time, you'll get to show your stuff in thrilling Boss Battles. Form a bond with your teammates — but don't let it be too strong. You're going to have to work together to achieve a common goal — while showing that you're the team's top contender along the way. Play nice with your crew during one adventure, and then scheme against them during another. Just be careful — you're all riding in the same vehicle as you journey across the action-packed stages. Take turns as Captain of cool vehicles like a submarine, convertible, flying carpet and more. Immerse yourself in the thrill of the game using your Wii Remote's motion-sensing capabilities as you steer Bullet Bills through races, go bowling with Koopa shells and more. Fire cannonballs at Bowser Jr., and create a masterpiece by shooting balls of paint onto an oversize canvas. With the endless adventures of this new Mario Party you'll have 9 times as much fun as you've ever had.

Posted by: from on 04/26/2013My son had to have this game for his 7th birthday. Played it non-stop for about a week. Now he's forgotten about it, so it can't be that great.

Join the Party!

Posted by: from PA on 04/14/2013Mario Party has always been a great series to play with friends, and Mario Part 9 is no exception! Things are a little different this time around as you travel the game board together in a vehicle instead of separately like in past games, but I feel this new addition to the game is fresh and fun. Lots of fun new mini games and challenges that will give you and your friends hours of fun! Make sure you play with friend though, the computer will cheat like crazy and be nearly impossible to beat otherwise.

Continues the downhill slope of mario party.

Posted by: from baltimore MD on 11/28/2012the original mario party on N64 was a great game, mario party 2 was good, 3 was good, then came the gamecube, since then, mario party has gotten worse, and worse, and worse, MP8 was terrible and now we are at mario party 9, and somehow, beyond all reasoning, they remove even more from the games series and puts everyone in a car? what were they thinking. all they have to do with mario party is combine 1~3 into one super mario party game, but they keep doing stupid stuff. if you like mario party I would still avoid it, I think the original is on the wii marketplace, get that instead.

Posted by: from Lawrenceville,GA on 11/23/2012I don't why people write such a bad reviews on the begging. My son is 8 years old and the game is appropriated for the age, He is happy with the game and worth every penny.

Good but Not made for Mario Party Fans

Posted by: from ostrander, Ohio on 09/09/2012I was thrilled to see this game come out. I did not realize that this title would take away from the rest of the series. All the other Mario Party Games I have played allow some strategy as to where you want to go. This one puts everyone in a "car" and the driver of that turn gets to decide for everyone. Yes you can set someone else up to take a hit but nothing is guaranteed. There are no items to truly help you except for certain dice blocks. Older versions had Mushrooms and all sorts of things. This game has very little. It is still fun to do the mini games and it does let you play them on their own. Overall, This was okay at its best.

Good game, in line with others from this title

Posted by: from Honolulu, HI on 07/23/2012Great family game to play, games and story pretty much similar to the others in this title. Maybe if they could make the animation a little faster or something, some of it gets a little dragged out, especially if you played it a few times and know what will happen next. All in all, the new minigames are fun, would recommend this to anyone looking for a game the whole family can play
