Mortal Kombat!!!

In the new MK release the story is a re-telling of the first three MK games but is still very impressive and unique. The campaign is broken into chapters in which you play a single character as the story progresses. The characters are moved from one engaged cutscene to the next to set up each fight. Also, no fatality is done during the story as it would kill off the characters involved in the plot. Besides the story, MK offers the old school arcade ladder where you face enemies at random and finally the bosses. There is also a tag mode which puts you and another character of your choice against two other characters until the bosses are reached. MK also offers a challenge tower that include a rediculous amount of challenges and mini games. Basically every action in the game grants coints which can be spent of unlockables such as alternate costumes, concept art, other fatalities, and more. All of this can be done in grim location known as the Krypt. Mortal Kombat offers a large character list with variations to classic characters as well. Along with fatality and babality Mk offers X-Ray movers and special moves as well as combo breakers all used from a super meter that builds as you fight.

Great Game, but Not Like the Old Ones

I love Mortal Kombat. I've followed the series since I was 4 yrs old. Yeah, they captured the 2D gameplay. Yeah, the fatalities are awesome. But they added in one thing that the older games didn't have: combos. I know that everyone loves combos because taking down your opponent with a 34-hit combo at 123% damage is cool, but I don't. I like the old MK games where you and a friend both had a 50% chance of winning due to button-mashing. Plus, not everyone has the patience to learn combos. Overall, good game.

I've been waiting for an amazing and fast paced Mortal Kombat for a while now kind of like UMK3. Finally this emerges and I can not wait until this amazing looking game is in my possesion! It's finally bringing back the super bloody fights unlike MK vs DC which there was like no blood which was lame. Theyre even bringing back stage fatalities which makes me happy! This is something I'm definitely gonna be getting when it comes out!

Mortal Kombat pays a tribute to the game of old, with a twist of new.X-ray lets you see your enemies broken bones to see how much damage your character done.Fatalities are back some are funny, but bloody and some that are just plain creepy, but bloody. Some of the Klassic costumes are back, and some that should have just stayed gone. The sounds design is incredible as are the special effects. The music fits the Klassic tunes, with an update. When it comes to the cut scenes you can't pause or skip them.Online works, but at times was a little sluggish. The graphic art style looks a little old,the characters look and play like they should, and the backgrounds are nice to look at.Their are a lot of unlockables in this game like art work, special codes,Fatalities, costumes and much more.If you like your fighting game running red with blood, than this Killer Kombat game is for you.

the game brings back all of the classic gameplay from the nintendo 64 and sega games and it is equally fun. i am a little dissapointed in the graphics of the game since i know it does not take up much memory and they could have improved WAY more. but the gameplay is perfect and the controls couldnt be better. i currently have it hooked up to my arcade system that i built from http://www.recroommasters.com/Default.asp and the new mortal kombat joystick that came out, making this game very fun x) anyone should check it out. i am a very big mortal kombat fun and had to get my own arcade machine in my room! lol

Just tried this at the Screenburn Arcade here in Austin, completely amazing detail and realism, while keeping controls similar to the 6 attack button layout.

Having been a life-long Mortal Kombat fan, this game is amazing. The graphics, sounds and overall controls are amazing. Story line is a little flubbed here and there compaired to the orginial. But aside from those little flaws, Great Game!
