After only using occasionally I recently have needed to use it daily for my toddlers videos. Every time I need to use it it freezes before it even starts and I have to unplug it to get it to work. I've had it 6 months and this has progressively gotten worse. In addition many of the remote buttons no longer work. And since there are only 3 buttons on the front of the product forget trying to rewind or fast forward. I don't see it being able to work at all in the near future. Definitely wouldn't but this or any other refurbished products from Best Buy.

The product doesn't work

I needed an affordable DVD player for my bedroom so this looked perfect. Unfortunately it won't read even the cleanest DVDs more than 25% of the time. The first couple DVDs I put in, it wouldn't play at all. I put in a brand new DVD and it played, and then the next morning tells me "This disc cannot be played. Please check the disc." I am, in fact, looking at this screen currently.
Yes, it's a cheap DVD player, but it's also a pretty expensive paper weight as it only plays DVDs very selectively. I won't buy refurbished again.

Don't buy! Died after 5 months!

Be warned that this item only has a 90-day warranty, so when the player completely died after less than 5 months of use, I basically just had to eat the loss. I won't be buying refurbished products from Best Buy in the future without checking that they have a standard one-year warranty!

Broken right out of the box.

I don't usually buy refurbished electronics because most are defective products that have just been plugged in, powered up, and boxed up for resell. They aren't actually "refurbed" but are merely tested to see if they turn on at all. Sure enough, this appears to be the case with my Samsung dvd player. It will turn on, but it won't play any dvds or even respond to most commands from the remote control. Needless to say, I'll be boxing it up and returning it this weekend.

A:AnswerI'm sorry for the confusion, but the DVD-C500 is not a BD player. For a Blu-Ray Player, please take a look at the BD-D5100 and higher models.

A:AnswerDue to the nature of the cross compatible connectors (HDMI, Composite(RCA yellow/red/white), Component(red/green/blue), Optical), almost all devices will work with the Samsung DVD players, regardless of manufacturer. There are no special converters required. Aforementioned Cables will be required for normal operation.
