Epson - RapidReceipt RR-60 Mobile Receipt and Color Document Scanner - White

Very light to carry in bag, have to download a file to any computer you want to use it on. Once download is complete, it is super simple to use. Connect USB to computer, tug the document in the corner of scanner, press the button, once scan is complete (scans quickly) , press Next button in screen, and choose where to save image . That’s it ! I asked my husband’s granddaughter to help me scan receipts . She is 5. ☺️

The RR-60 scanner is a MUST for anyone who does itemized deductions for tax purposes, or for any small business owner who have to keep receipts of everything, but in my case, I work in Healthcare administration and we have satellite offices that I move in between 3 or 4 times a week. this has been a great addition to my laptop bag because it is very small and portable, have endless saving options for scanned documents as you can scan and then save into Google Drive, DropBox, send via email, send to evernote, powerpoint, excel, word, or onedrive as you can see in the attached image. the smart scan utility also gives you the option to save as PDF, searchable PDF (OCR), PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and more. you can also use the bonus software that comes with the smartscan utility to to manage invoices/ receits and import data from scanned documents and export it to Tax softwares like TurboTax. This is not the first Epson mobile scanner that I owned. I have been using Epson mobile scanners for over 4 years and those scanners are still working with no issues whatsoever. the scanner is very small and fits in my laptop bag with no issues. The scanner comes with a quick user guide and a USB to Micro USB cable to power the scanner and connect it to a Computer and a cleaning sheet and a calibration sheet. I know that this will live for years to come and will be a work horse regardless of its small size.

Epson rapid receipt scanner is easy to use and pretty much just plug and play. Windows OS recognizes the hardware with no issues. Even though it can be used once it is connected, I recommend downloading the software from the manufacturer for better performance. The scanner itself is very light and in a compact format perfect for on the go productivity. When ready to use all you have to do is press the scan button on the device and it will automatically lunch the scanner software. Lightly insert the receipt, document or business card in the feeder and the scanner will do it's magic. The dedicated software which you have to download from the Epson website is also easy to use. The software has a lot of scanning options including PDF and a dedicated receipt and invoice format. For anyone keeping track of their financials I see the receipt and invoice option beneficial. That option will automatically extract important information such as payment option, tax, total, date etcetera and then it can be exported to various formats including excel, quickbooks, and turbotax. If you work on the go and keep track of your financials this scanner will do the job just right efficiently and quietly. This device does not have a built in battery or wireless connectivity, it has to be connected via USB to be used. In the box you get the scanner, micro USB cable and manuals.

I was initially a little hesitant about this scanner due to its portable size. However, I was happily surprised to see that my expectations were exceeded. The quality of the scans is really great for something this small. Plus, being able to wirelessly scan receipts is a huge plus. I don't know of any other scanners this small that can do that. Despite the instructions not explicitly saying that they're for this model of the scanner, setting up the scanner was also fairly easy because the instructions are pretty detailed. The included instructions link you to the download page on Epson's website. From there it was just installing one program. Took about 5 minutes in total. Once the software is installed you're prompted to calibrate the scanner. This was done with the included calibration sheet (much like how you calibrate a printer). Again, very straight forward and only took a few minutes. One of the features I really like is that the PDFs the scanner creates are OCR enabled (i.e., the computer picks up the text and is searchable). This is a huge time saver for me as it'll allow me to search through my receipts by date, location, etc. While being "green" isn't important to everyone, I really appreciated Epson going the extra mile and making this out of recycled plastics. It's not something that makes the scanner perform better, but makes me feel a little better about having it. This little scanner is excellent. The scans are clean and it does both color and black and white. It sometimes needs help feeding long receipts through or they will jam, but nothing a little guiding with your hand can't help. I love the Epson ScanSmart Software. It allows you to sequentially scan multiple scans, review them, and then export them or download them separately or all at once to your given folder or business management software like QuickBooks. When scanned to the invoice/receipt manager software from Epson, it can actually auto detect vendors like USPS for easier classification and tax management. It is only about 11 inches long and is super light, taking up hardly any footprint at all on your desk or table. Just note that this RR-60 is the wired version, the RR-70 is what you want for wireless scans. Thanks for reading, I definitely would get this if this is the kind of scanner you are looking for!
