Q: What is the difference between Generation 2 and Generation 3 subwoofer?
A: There is no acoustic difference between the Gen 2 and Gen 3 subs. The Gen 3 Sub has updated internal processing and memory power and is designed to take advantage of any new features that come to the Sonos platform.
Q: What is the difference between the Generation 1 and Generation 3 subwoofer?
A: Basically updated internals. They updated the memory, processor, and wireless. It is supposed to have less vibration as well. I just got this along with the arc and it is amazing. I love playing things and turning off and on the sub to hear and feel the difference it makes, I can't compare as I didn't have the Gen1. Also this link (https://thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/) has demos you can use to test out audio systems with the different dolby technologies. Not a detailed answer, but I hope that helps. If anything you can search the webs on your question and probably get more detailed analysis of the two.
Q: Sonos Sub Gen3 will work with Playbar?
A: Hi, The Gen3 Sub will work with Playbar.
A: Having been through different configurations, my system worked best when I paired them all for surround sound through the Sonos app and connected an optic cable to my playbar from my smart TV. Sonos then prompts you to setup remotes.
Q: Is this what we would pair with the newly released Sonos - Arc Soundbar with Dolby Atmos?
A: Yes, at least I did and it is amazing. I am really surprised how great this system is. In fact I am thinking of getting the Play One SL's to complete the surround setup. If you already have a Gen 1 sub than I assume you can use that as well. This sub has upgraded internals (processor, memory, and wireless) as well as less vibration, but should work as well.
A: Hi, and thank you for your question! The great thing about Sonos is that you can place the Sub where you want to. Ideally in a place where the bass response is equally distributed throughout the space. You can Trueplay Tune your Sonos products with an IOS device which means in the matter of a minute or two the sound will be adjusted custom to your room. As far as placement Sub is designed to stand upright or lay flat. Not kidding, try it out if you don't believe us! :)
Q: If buying open box you could get same warranty and defer payments with zero interest ?
A: Not sure about the interest part. Open box -I’ve found to be a great deal. I always purchase the extended warranty anyway. So it gives you 4 years warranty. The standard only gives you one.
Q: Can the Sonos subwoofer be paired with my Sonos Playbase? Also, can it be paired with a Sonos 5?
A: Hi, and thank you for your questions! Yes and yes! :)

Amazing sub. Bass comes thru great with movies. If you're looking for decent bass, you've found a minimalist, elegant product. It's not a Bose system or Klipsch but with the soon sound bar and sub. Amazing

This is a must buy for your Sonos setup. Yes it’s expensive but worth it for what you’re getting. Adding the sub made a massive difference to my home theater system. Originally purchased the Sonos Arc, then added the ones as surrounds and lastly the sub. The sub opens up and completes the system. The sub not only takes over the lows but will also improve the sound of the arc by it taking over the mids/highs. The bass is tight and accurate and will undoubtedly shake your room. Adds a dramatic effect to your movie watching experience. If you’re planning on/already purchased the Arc, do yourself a favor and add the sub you won’t be disappointed.
