The Solo Stove Bonfire is unlike any other fire pit you’ve ever seen! Now with the removeable ash pan, we have used our same patented technology that has been perfected into a portable fire pit to take along on trips or to enjoy at home. The best part? Nearly no smoke and minimal ash left over! Making the Bonfire not only easy to clean up, but won’t leave you smelling like campfire. The Shelter is made from PVC-coated polyester — the same material used to make whitewater rafts. This also includes the Bonfire Stand. The Stand raises up your fire pit, allowing cool air to pass through its vent holes. This also allows you to burn on heat sensitive surfaces like wood decks or green grass.
A: The Bonfire is 19.5 x 19.5 x 14 inches.
Q: What is the maximum size for firewood?
A: Most standard sized logs (that you buy from the store) should work. We recommend anywhere between 12" to 16" logs. Overfilling your fire pit above the upper vent holes will decrease efficiency and produce more smoke. For best results, use dried and split hardwoods. Kiln-dried oak and juniper are excellent options. Check out this article we wrote about arrange the wood in each fire-pit to get the best burn possible- https://blog.solostove.com/how-to-build-a-smoke-free-fire/
A: Hello - Yes the height of the Bonfire (not including the stand underneath) is 14" tall. The height of the stand is 2.7".
Q: can this be used on a wood deck
A: If you place thebstove dorectly on wood deck it will leave a mark, put it on something like some brick or card board, I recommend to buy a stand designed for the stove (around $79) it looks nice and protect wood deck too.
A: We recommend giving at least 20-25 feet of clearance between your fire pit and any coverings above it. Heat sensitive or easily tarnished materials may require additional clearance to maintain a clean finish. Crafting a safe space now will let you focus on what’s important later. Keep in mind that if you burn in a screen enclosed room, ash may collect on the surfaces in the room.
Q: Does this come with the black carrying case or only the shelter cover?
A: Hello! This bundle comes with both the black carrying case as well as the Shelter.
Q: What is the best way to clean this product after use to avoid burn damage?
A: You can shine the outside with a stainless steel cleaner like Bar Keeper's Friend.
Q: Is ashtray removable or it is fixed?
A: Removable on the 2.0

I’ve been using the Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0 along with the Stand and Shelter for a few months now, and it’s been fantastic. The Bonfire produces a beautiful, nearly smokeless flame and puts out a surprising amount of heat. The new removable ash pan makes cleanup super easy compared to the original version. The Stand is a must if you’re using it on a deck or grass—it protects the surface and helps with airflow. The Shelter 2.0 fits snugly and holds up well in rain and snow, keeping the stove in great condition. Everything feels well-built and premium. It’s a little pricey with the accessories, but the performance and quality make it totally worth it. Rating: 5/5

Smaller than most and does not put out a lot of heat to the sides because of the design, but we were searching for a bonfire pit that could sit safely on top of a cedar deck that was 10 ft off of the ground. This stove has an Ash Tray that is 4-6 inches above the bottom to keep heat from building up underneath the stove. Then you add in the "Stand" which boosts another 4 inches and has lots of holes for air to pass through and you get almost no heat build up from the fire burning above in the solo stove mid-section. This was a great design for someone who did not want to damage the surface the stove was sitting on. This was our primary factor in choosing this stove. The one problem we had was just burning any old piece of wood we could pick up and carry from the woods behind our home, sometimes you would get a "POP" from the fire that would send out embers onto the deck around the stove. We bought enough inexpensive pavers to make a 8ftx 8ft square around the Solo Stove to protect from this. So if a burning ember does pop out of the stove, it will not come into contact with our deck. We also bought a $25 fire extinguisher, just in case. But we have not had any issues since we put down the concrete pavers. Many safe fires made and enjoyed. This stove is small for the money and does not put out very much heat. It is the best burning stove I have ever had and is easy to start. However, the way it is designed, there is not a lot of heat that radiates out from the sides of the double walled stainless steel structure. Think of it as a really large YETI cup. The sides are insulated like a YETI and therefore do not pass heat. All of the heat flows straight up and out the top. So if you are sitting around the stove and it is below 40 degrees, you will find yourself scooting closer and closer to the stove, trying to stay warm. The insulated sides are part of what makes it burn so efficiently, but it also keeps it from radiating heat toward you. If you are going to use on a concrete surface, there are better, cheaper options for you that you might get more heat out of. Now if you wanted to cook over the top, then this is probably the best cooking/bonfire stove you can buy. Because it has cooking accessories and all of the heat is coming out of the top of stove at between 450 and 650 degrees and in a very even pattern, due to the design. One last note, it will smoke more than you think it should when you first start the fire, once the metal heats up and it starts drawing air the way it is designed, it will recirculate the smoke and perform much more to your liking. It is just that first 5 minutes, you may wonder why it is smoking so bad and not performing correctly, it will improve in a few minutes. Once the metal is nice and hot it does a great job of limiting the amount of smoke that gets on you and your clothes. We also purchased a box of small fire starter pieces that you light and forget. With those we have been able to burn almost anything in this stove from green wood to rotten wood, etc. We just start off with one fire starter and some nice twigs we grabbed off of the ground, then once the twigs are in, we put in a mixture of whatever we were able to collect from mother nature.

This is so beyond awesome. I was afraid that it would create a wildfire out of control that would scorch my manicured grass. WRONG. It didn’t. It made quite the bonfire that was nice and inviting. The next day after everything cooled, ZERO scorch to my grass. Disclaimer: you gotta get the base if you’re going to put it on a surface that can be singed. It’s an amazing invention, we enjoy this every weekend, sometimes we do smores, sometimes just make tacos and chill out (as evidenced in the photo).
