A: The cases that are specifically made for the Fire HDX will cause it to go to sleep when you close the cover. So basically the Fire is on all of the time. I have a Fire HDX also but have a case that is not necessarily for the HDX and it does not make it go to sleep when I close it. I have to touch the on/off button and manually put it to sleep.

Great Protection for your Kindle Fire HDX
The case holds the device by a strong magnet rather than by elastic corners like other cases, and I believe it is probably this magnet that makes the device turn on when the case is opened and also turns it off when it is closed. It seems like a little thing, but it is very convenient. I also like the way you just slide the device upward out of the case, and it automatically turns on the camera, and locks it into place again in the new position. The stand works much better than the one on my previous Kindle case, and I really like the way it can be used both vertically and horizontally. The only reason I'm not giving it the full five stars is that it was quite expensive, and every now and then the device does slide out of the case. I've never had it fall out, but it has slipped a few times.

Great case
Looking at how the case is designed and how it fits onto the tablet, you would not expect it to stay on. It works like a charm. The only time the case has come off is because I have taken it off. It has never fallen off. Great product and design.

Protects and Serves the Fire HDX Tablet well!
The Origami Case for Fire HDX 8.9 stated purpose is to protect the tablet while making the features still easy to use. I agree totally - the designers did an excellent job. It not only works well; it also looks elegant. I am happy I took the extra step to protect my investment.
