Glad put the 6S' internal into the SE. Great upgrade to the 5S. They should have upgraded the front facing camera as well

Perfect Size - Terrific Phone
Posted by: JWMac from: Overland Park, KS on
The 64GB SE is a perfect phone for me. I am a fan of this size of phone and I was excited when the SE was released. As a former professional photographer, now turned amateur, I no longer carry a small point and shoot with me when I am without my DSLR. The iPhone's camera is that good for casual (grandkids, etc.) snaps. I am not a "selfie" user, so the lower resolution front camera does not make any difference to me, but might others. The phone is lightning fast for emails, internet, online banking, etc. and of course quality of phone calls and bluetooth function are also great. I sold my iPhone 6 when this phone was released and the increased performance is immediately noticeable. Not new for iPhones however, I do appreciate the WIFI calling mode. I live in an area that has a weak cellular signal and WIFI calling/texting really saves the day. For those of use who like smaller phones, I highly recommend this phone. I do note that I originally bought the 16GB model and found out quickly that 16 GB is really not enough and I exchanged the phone for a 64GB SE - I would recommend seriously considering the 64GB version over the 16GB.

This is my first smart phone. I like the size of the SE. I find it easy to hold in my hand, and it fits well into my pocket or my purse. For me the screen is plenty large enough. It took me a while to learn how to use it, with some help from my friends, but now I wonder how I lived without it. It takes great pictures and video in many different settings. It's got a lot of power for web search and other functions simultaneously. I am doing this review on the phone using my voice instead of typing it and that works well for me.

iLove the iPhone SE.
Posted by: Catmobile from: on
I purchased the iPhone SE as an upgrade for my six-year old iPhone.4. Wow. I now realize that I have been missing a lot and am so happy with my new phone and all the new features and apps it alots me. Touch ID, Siri, Apple Pay are new features to me that I can no longer do without. The OS 9 on the iPhone SE allows me to download and upgrade apps that I wasn't able to do on the OS 7 on the iPhone 4. And best of all, I love that the iPhone SE is small and almost identical in size and weight to my old iPhone 4. Many cell phones have become so cumbersome in size so this is a nice throwback to a manageable and portable phone. I love this phone and you will too.

Bigger is not always better...
Posted by: Beebs from: Plano, TX on
While some people were happier with the bigger iPhone offerings, I was disappointed. I do not have the biggest hands, and I needed a phone I could hold and use securely in one hand...while walking the dog.
I might be one of the few, but having a new premium phone offering in the size I like was the "next big thing" for me. So, the phone does not get all of the new bells and whistles, which is a little disappointing. Personally, I am glad that I was not forgotten...and if you are looking for a smaller, premium phone, neither were you. This is the phone for you.

Great smaller alternative to the iPhone 6s
Posted by: vgs1895 from: on
Please don't bother reading this if you only want a droid. I'm going to assume that you like iPhones if you're still with me. I've had an iPhone since the 3.
I liked my 5s, but decided to upgrade to the new processor of the 6, then 6s. I really didn't care for the larger size and actually returned it, only to re-buy it a few months later. I kept saying, "If only they made the 6s in the size of the 5."
And guess what--they listened (not to me, obviously, but to someone!). This does *almost* everything my 6s did.
Cons (stuff not on the 5se, but on the 6s):
--no stair counter on the dashboard. Can't figure out why. I can live without it.
--no extra 3D touch or whatever that is. I didn't use it nor do I care about it.
--supposedly a less sensitive home button for the finger touch ID. I disagree. Mine is better than my 6s
--supposedly a worst selfie camera, but I haven't found that to be the case.
--supposedly worse on Facetime. Again, I haven't found that to be true.
--super quick processor. Probably it's only in my mind, but it seems faster than my 6s
--great size. Fits everywhere
--easy to use with one hand. Yay!
--CHEAPER. I sold my 16GB 6s for the same price as the 64GB 5se. Then I cancelled my applecare plus on the 6s and got back enough of a refund to pay for the same care on my new phone.
--Weird Perk: I happen to love Otterbox Defender cases. AND, I like the old 5 cases which cover the home button. I prefer it covered for two reasons. 1) Protection (duh), and 2) I actually don't care about the touch ID because sometimes I want to take a quick picture. If I accidentally sign on with the touch ID then I have to find the camera on my home screen. If I don't sign in, then I can just slide it up on the screen.
ANYWAY, the old Otterbox Defender cases for the 5 are SOOOO much cheaper than regular 5s cases, and definitely cheaper than 6/6s cases. I mean, like $8 on Amazon if you look around, and these are authentic cases.
If you prefer to use the touch ID, the 5s Otterbox cases have a cutout for the home button. The 6 cases have a little film over the cutout and it makes the button slightly less sensitive. What this means is that the 5s cases are actually better for the touch ID.
I hope all this makes sense.

Really great update
Posted by: CharlieCat from: on
For some of us out there, smaller is better. I don't need a phablet because I nearly always carry my iPad mini with me. And when I don't need the Mini, like on a run to the gas station or post office, why a big phone? Just so I can carry something huge on a big belt clip? No thanks.
Anyhow, I love the updates that I use. Same case size and screen res as the 5S, and the addition of AC wifi makes a difference. And so glad to finally have the fingerprint ID on my phone as well as my Mini. Several of my financial apps finally added biometric security, so the timing has been good. Camera is great, although the live photo option isn't a big plus for me. Yeah, sure, it lacks some of the coolest new things on a Samsung, but if you are *married* to iOS for your smaller devices, as we are, this is a nice alternative to the 6-series with the 4.7 inch screen. Battery life is good, although I have to admit I haven't really paid attention to it.

Good phone at a good price.

Moving up from an iPhone 4 (at my daughter's insistence!), the iP5 was the perfect step up. It doesn't have all the bells ans whistles offered by some of the higher priced phones but this one suits my fairly basic needs perfectly. The screen is a little small when compared to others but it is much easier to fit in my pocket than the others. I'm very pleased with my choice.

Broke my phone and didn't want anything bigger. The sales guy recommend this for me. It was perfect and I love it. Fits perfectly in my work uniform pocket:)

Great size phone!

Didn't think I'd like the big iPhones so was pleased when they came out with the se, which has all the features of the 6, but the size of the 5. Great purchase!
