Q: Microsoft Office compatibility
A: This model unit is running Chrome OS not Windows OS. Its not compatible with Microsoft Office. You can use Google Docs, Sheets, etc which is similar with Microsoft Office. It's not possible to use Skype on Chromebooks, but you can add the Hangouts app from the Chrome Web Store to video chat, instant message, or make phone calls.

A: There is no optical drive.

A: Yes, this can access Google Play store.

A: I've had at least 3 apps going at one time, didn't have any issues. I absolutely love mine.

A: As you can see in the product description, the SoC is a Rockchip Cortex A17, which has an ARMv7-A CPU, which is 32 bit. Whether 64 vs 32 bit really matter here, it's a different issue. Program footprint is more compact in 32 bit, so you can open more tabs before performance degrades.
