cheap, snappy, but limited
Posted by: shibi from: on
* The cheapest Chromebook with 4GB of Ram.
You need it to keep your streaming music, Google searches and open tabs running smoothly.
* Cortex A17
I know its a random brand, but its makes for a snappy quad-core
processor. Compared the next Chromebook, which offers a dual-
core Intel Celeron processor, isn't enough for me.
*Limited streaming capabilities.
I don't recommend this Chromebook for web browsing while you've
got your Chromecast going. It creates a lot of lag and low picture quality.
If you got two kinds of media going at the same time, say a news video comes up while you've got music going, the computer stammers hard. It can't handle two media processes at once.
If you're a cheapo like me, get it. Btw, did I mention it's tiny and blue. Haha.

Great for student and for basic use.

Great Chromebook for student use. Battery life is excellent. Graphics are standard for the price. Excellent for carrying around but need to know how to use Google services for the device to be used at its max.

Great Little Laptop for High School
Posted by: freeweel from: Longmont, CO on
We bought this laptop for my high school age daughter since they use Chromebooks at school. She loves the way it looks, and it performs quite nicely. Internet browsing it seems more responsive than our much more expensive Windows laptop. The included 802.11ac wireless as the fastest connection speed in our house with the new NextLight fiberoptic connection. The bluetooth works well, but getting the BT mouse to link up took a couple of tries. I really have nothing negative to say accept that a touch screen would be nice -- but of course, you can get that on a Chromebook if you want to pay more.

Great for students

I purchased this chromebook to use for my classes - taking notes, researching things online, and things like that. Adjusting to the Chrome OS has taken some time, but I am very happy with my purchase. I've had no problems with this item after using it daily for several weeks - as noted in other reviews, the sound is muffled because of the speaker placement. That is kind of annoying, but not enough to detract a star (since I use headphones almost exclusively). It's a good purchase for class work, but don't expect it to outright replace a pc.

Good laptop for basic use

Works well for basic use. Don't open too many tabs at one time, slows it down quite a bit. Charges fast. Battery last a long time.

I've always had a desktop pc but it was freezing up with Windows 10. A friend told me to look into getting a chromebook! I looked at reviews and decided on this Asus! I love it! I've had no problems!

Great easy to use laptop
Posted by: 38luv47 from: on
Got this unit for my wife after she used similar laptop that our uses and liked it very much. Just the right size for sitting on your lap and doing casual work.
Required some adjustments and getting used to a none Windows operating system. But after a short learning curve and getting the right apps attached to the quick start bar it is a very easy machine to use except for this one condition.
1: Being a tablet sized pc I wish I had gotten a touch screen display. Much easier to use then the touch pad. I have never liked those. I attached a usb mouse instead.
Overall a very nice and responsive unit.

Best Buy gave me a good return on my old laptop as a trade in. The Asus was on sale and usually makes a good product.
