This ASUS NANO wireless adapter includes a clip to attach it to notebook computers and a cradle with a long USB cord for desktop use.
Fast, compact size

This stepped me up to super fast AC Wi-Fi from G. Impressive decrease in the time for web pages to load. Unobtrusive and extremely low profile, almost the same size as my SanDisk Ultra Fit USB flash drive.

Works, limited range
Posted by: Nckhammond from: on
Limited range is to be expected on nano sized USB WiFi devices. Their antennas are very very small. That being said, the updated driver from the manufacturers Web site increased its performance dramatically over the driver provided on the cd. This unit also worked fine on USB 2.0. It's a fast and easy upgrade to ac wifi. Just don't expect it to get a signal if your going thru a bunch of walls.

It worked fine for about a week, afterwords the connection would drop every 2 minutes. Taking it out and plugging it back in didn't do much to change that.

Fast when it works but disconnects regularly
Posted by: Tecgheek360 from: on
When I first purchased this a few weeks ago there was no reviews on this product yet. The device is crazy fast but occasionally the speeds will start to crawl to the point that it was even slowing my internet speeds. That's not the worse part. Occasionally it will disconnect and I have to manually enable the connection again. Its easy to reconnect but I access my pc remotely and you don't want disconnects from online gaming. This was an upgrade for me from the dual band netgear adapter on this pc and that wireless adapter never disconnected once for me. Will return this product and purchase another netgear adapter as I put the old adapter on a 2nd pc.

I needed to update my wireless connection on some older laptops. I installed this and now I am getting more than double the speed I previously had.

Asus was great until now...
Posted by: Poet from: on
The 2 other people before me have described exactly what wrong. Asus in my opinion has some of the highest quality products. The Best Buy employee suggested I swap out the netgear adapter in my had with this Asus...because it will " blow netgear out of the water" Obviously he had no idea what he was talking about. If your going to push a pc product do it because you truly have experience with it. If it hadn't of been Asus brand I would have kept walking but gave it a shot.
Worked fine at first except after windows restarted. After windows restart the adapter shows up but no wireless signals are found. Only was to fix this is to unplug and plug it back in. After that comes the overheating. After a few hours the usb gets incredibly hot and will just disconnect and stop working. I thought it was driver issues to begin with however after discovering how hot it was after it would disconnect it all made sense. I believe Asus needs to go back to the drawing books with this one. And yes I tested with every usb slot I have along with a second pc.
Long story short don't waste your time or money on this. I spent way too much time finding the cause of all these problems.

I am a HUGE fan of Asus (Have the Asus ROG laptop, Asus RT-AC88U AC3100, etc.). However, I was very disappointed with this nano USB WiFi. And therein lies the issue. The USB nano is SMALL. I don't think this was designed for gaming but more for cosmetics and easy to plug and play.
I really wanted to give this a higher rating for what it was designed for (it definitely wasn't designed for gaming it doesn't feel like) but the inconsistent connection to my router was annoying; especially when I was downloading Windows Updates and it would disconnect in the middle. I ended up just having to carry the computer to the router and using an ethernet cable.
Amazon has a review on a device like this from Asus (older model) and it wasn't good. I should have trusted that but this newer model got my curiosity to see if they improved it.

It does what I expect it to do.

Since my expectations for this device are that it should do what it is supposed to do have been met, I am well satisfied with this product. I would not recommend this product simply because I seriously doubt anything of this nature would come up in conversation.

Small and low-profile, but at a cost.
Posted by: Drewboy from: on
Got this coupled with a new AC router. Get better speeds with my N600 (looking at 78 Mbps, compared to about 12 Mbps with this receiver).
So yes, it's slim and low profile, but it comes at a performance cost. Randomly wouldn't connect to the 2.4Ghz band, which is fine since I'd only get about 8Mbps on that one when it did work.

USB adapter great value

The Asus wireless adapter works great. It is small so your less likely to break it.
