Decent Laptop for the Price Posted by: from: on Lots of "Bang for your Buck" and ASUS ROG is a known brand with decent reviews throughout its line up. However, I have an issue with mine that both ASUS and Microsoft have been unable to resolve. The advertised 4GB NVIDIA GeForce Video card that apparently came with this machine is not recognized by Windows 10. I spent hours and hours with ASUS tech support and what I am told is that this computer uses a "hybrid" graphics card system (Intel HD graphics card and the for-mentioned NVIDIA Geforce), However, Windows will only see the Intel HD card and thus only uses 128MB of dedicated graphics memory and then uses 8GB of the system memory. I tried several games and they wont recognize the NVIDIA card and thus the lag is horrible! I have to play on the lowest possible settings just to make it bearable. ASUS tells me that the NVIDIA card "kicks in" when needed, but there is no software that they could tell me nor could Microsoft which manages this hybrid system. The system BIOS also has no such settings to adjust. Microsoft told me to disable the Intel HD graphics card in Device Manager. I tried that but it defaults to Generic graphics card. I tried updating NVIDIA software, reinstalling the software on both graphics cards, but to no avail. So, now I have to live with this hybrid system which I don't believe is a hybrid system or take the computer back :(

Great power for the money Posted by: from: on I have purchased a few laptops prior to this thinking it would suffice for my needs. I was wrong. I do some home videos of the kids doing what they do so I didn't think I needed really powerful specifications for what I did. I was definitely wrong. I needed something that had a good amount of power as video editing was really the main function of why I wanted a laptop. I tried in the $650 range then spent $999 on another Asus but it just wasn't what I needed. The 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Skylake processor Powerful quad-core, eight-way processing performance made a HUGE difference and it was only $200 more than the previous model. The SSD drive was nice for the operating system also. Makes for fast startup and loading of apps. Overall for the money this was about the best balance of quality and money.

Very Good Computer Posted by: from: on I Paid $999 for this Model. I bought it because I budgeted myself no more than $1,000 for a Computer. (previously owned a 17" HP Laptop) It was missing several things I needed so I had to return it. The 15" screen for me was to small and The Computer doesn't have a CD ROM drive. Also the key board buttons are smaller than I am used to. This is a solid I7 Dual core Computer But for $200 more I Picked up an ASUS model GL752VWDH74 (On Best Buys website) With a 17" screen, bigger key board, a 128mb SSD Drive and a HD CD ROM drive. It is also a I7 Quad core with 16 mb of RAM and a Invidea 960m with 4mb of dedicated memory. I performed NovaBench tests on Both Computers after optimizing the Graphics Component Software and this Computer runs Graphics/Games 3-4 faster!! 3D frame rates per/sec on the 15" model were 273 on the 17" model they were 1005. If you will be doing any gaming deffinitly get the 17" model. For only $200 the 17" is a Huge Bargain. tldpdb1

Best computer I've had! Posted by: from: on Although this has been the best computer I've ever had, it did have some ups and downs in the beginning. Some programs didn't want to install, so I had to find ways to manipulate it. I kept getting a service error blue screen, due to a driver not complying well with Windows 10. After doing a lot of research and trying out a lot of things, I finally got it to work to its full potential. My boyfriend works as an IT and is a hardcore gamer and even he is jealous of this computer.

Great priced gaming rig. Posted by: from: on I've been using this laptop moderately to heavily for the past couple weeks and I have to say I don't regret for a moment purchasing this pc. I gets dirty pretty quick and gets pretty hot, but these don't bother me. Performance wise it's fast and smooth. It runs Tom Clancy's the division at 60fps on medium settings and still looks beautiful. I'm enjoying windows 10 as well. My Ps4 never looked so dusty. If your looking for a medium/high end laptop for a decent price look no further. If your looking for a rig to run next gen games on ultra graphics, you might want a desktop rig.

Solid machine for CAD - not just games Posted by: from: on Gray machine. Easy setup. Very powerful. We are using it for 3D cad rendering. It is heavy. So the power comes with a price of added weight.

Powerful and fast bootup Posted by: from: Flat Rock, MI on This is my first brand new computer ever. I've always gotten refurbished. My last one was 10 years old and was over due for getting a new one. I really like this ASUS laptop. A couple of things to point out. One, it runs extremely hot which I wish the Best Buy rep would have warned me about. I had to buy a cooling pad for it. Also, the battery runs down within two hours when playing a game. Lastly, I was not told that it defaults to the smaller SSD drive when it saves files instead of the 1 TB hard drive part. I'm not an expert on that stuff and now I have to work on moving things over. So just an FYI. Otherwise this laptop is great. Boots up fast, opens my games fast, I like the crisp picture quality and sound. And I got a great price on it!

Best Laptop I've Ever Owned Posted by: from: MN on I thought I had a nice sony vaio laptop but after purchasing this bad boy it blows that $800 computer out of the water. Amazing speed and graphics and love that it came with the division so i could test out the gaming right away. If you can afford it this computer is definitely worth the price!

Fast, easy to use. Great computer Posted by: from: on I trade currencies and stocks and need a fast, dependable computer and I really like the Asus brand. I had purchased a desk top several months ago and so when I needed a new laptop for an upcoming seminar I pulled together all my requirements and looked at 8 different computers and this is the one that fit the requirements the best. It was not the least expensive, and it was not the most expensive. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent laptop, battery not so good Posted by: from: on This laptop is incredibly fast and plays games very well. My only complaint is the battery life which is honestly about 1 1/2 max of normal use.
