I am the coolest person at the party

Efficient. It comes with 4 mouth pieces for when you have to test your friends. I wash them in the top rack of the dishwasher and soak them in disinfectant. While the breathalyzer will give you and immediate estimate of your drunkness, you have to wait 20 minutes after eating or drinking anything for a perfectly accurate number. It's fine, you just have to have a 20 minute wind down from the party. I think that everyone who drinks or cares about their friends who drink, should have one on their keychain.
Only one downside: remember how the back battery cover of your gameboy somehow always got lost and then one day you stopped caring because "hey, it still works"? Yeah, same thing. I lost the battery cover about a week after I bought it. I put one those little clear rubber bands around it, so my battery wouldn't fall out when every I dropped my keys.
My friends like to have a party every couple of weeks and sometimes it gets a little.... out of control. Not only is this great party fun (pass the breathalyzer), but it has most definitely helped me save a life or two. Everyone party has that one person who swears "No IIII"mmm fiiiiiiiine. I can TOTALLY drive. It's cool," and everyone cringes with fear at the thought, but no matter what anyone says, they just keep trying to leave. It's become a ritual that at the end of the party, everyone gets the test before they leave. Those not at 0.00 get to stay until they are or spend the night on the couch. I won't have anyone endangering themselves or anyone else by drinking and driving. It's interesting though, I wasn't that popular or cool and I guess I'm still not the socialite everyone wishes I were, but because I got this breathalyzer, and forced it on everyone, I am more respected and I definitely get invited to more parties.

Don't waste your money

I work in law enforcement and deal with the results of Preliminary Breath Tests (PBTs) constantly. After drinking about 6+ beers with some friends one night, one police officer friend brought out a professional, road tested breathalyzer for use on actual DUI investigations. I blew a .05 on this device, after waiting the prescribed 15-20 minutes after my most recent drink. I blew a .14 on the professional breathalyzer. Usually the professional breathalyzers are off by a factor of 10-20% from the actual BAC result via blood draw. Hence, their inadmissibility in court. However, this device gave such a drastically incorrect reading, and did so consistently, that it could not be trusted. My friends also experienced similar poor results with this. I had just purchased the device and put a new battery in it, so I know it was not that. I would spend the extra $50 bucks and buy the $80-$85 version of their product if you want a reliable breathalyzer.
Also, anytime a breathalyzer registers positive for the presence of alcohol, one should not be driving a vehicle. Impairment truly does begin at the first drink, and sadly, examples abound about individuals receiving injuries or killing people after having BAC results that are actually *under* the legal limit. Even if you are in an accident and not at fault, you can get a DUI.
In any event: this is a chintzy product. Skip it and pay a few dollars and get something more legitimate.

The device works well when property "tuned" and used per recommendations. Out of the box, it took couple uses to calibrate the sensor. And then over the next couple days, I questioned the wide range of results the device calculated. About a week in, the device was testing pretty consistently. Check the battery, and be sure to use alkaline, not rechargeable.

Used it a few times. Checked it's accuracy with a Intoxilyzer FST PBT and it had same readings. Not sure how it will hold up over time.

We bought this as a way to estimate alcohol levels. It works and seems to be relatively consistent with its own readings. However, we are not certain how it compares with 'official' measurements and do not have any way to compare...

Not very accurate.

I am a police officer so I tested it along with the ones we use and it was way off.

This unit is small and effective. I keep it in my purse, but is small enough and equipped to be put on a keychain.
It is a decent gauge to help a person make smart decisions :-)

Have no idea how accurate it is, but it seems to be highly accurate. For something so cheap, it is really impressive.

Gets The Job Done

Okay, just using it as a quick check for , "Should I be driving?" Not a guarantee, but a pretty good indicator. When I carry it, I drink less...so I guess it works better than imagined.
