Cheaper price in store
Posted by: TechJunky from: Des Moines, IA on
I found this online clearance priced under $350.00 but thought is was still overpriced. I went into the local store and looked at the floor model. It is a decent size and has a good build quality, but it's not going to last 20 years or longer like more expensive units. I found it to be suitable for my needs but asked the salesperson if they would knock the price down another 10%. When he scanned the SKU the unit was $50.00 less than the clearance advertised price, which also was better than the 10% off I was asking. I purchased it. My unit was simple to assemble but some of the hardware in the locking mechanisms were fragile junk, especially in the assembly of the two drawers. Two of the posts in the locking system snapped as I was locking them into place. The drawers are unusable until I find some brackets to pull the drawers back together. In all though it is a solid buy at $295.00 after tax.

Very Nice Stand
Posted by: sredd68 from: Newark, NJ on
Just bought this stand to replace a very old stand. Assembly took about an hour as I did it alone (manufacturer recommends 2 persons-gets heavy as pieces start to come together). Instructions reads "no tools needed", not true, you need a Phillips head screwdriver and something to help lock fasteners (I used the back of a hammer). Need two people to move once it's fully assembled
Component spaces are very roomy to allow air flow and keep equipment from overheating. Also, if your TV is wall mounted, you have extra space on top to place needed items or décor.
Well made piece of furniture, my wife loves it and so do I. Five stars because I caught it on sale, $80 off.

Great TV STAND, had difficulty building though.
Posted by: Esco from: on
Finally finished building it. It actually took 4hours by myself. Even though it says no tools necessary, a Phillips screwdriver would be nice to have.
Problems I ran into was with the glass doors which wasn't an easy task. Overall, I'm quite patient and rarely give up when building furniture of this size. Maybe having a friend help would have helped because I made some personal errors which messed up some of the internal levers.
Quality of TV STAND. AMAZING! This ain't no Walmart/Target cheap brand, it looks amazing with my wood floors. It'll raise your TV to a good viewing angle, enough ventilation to keep your devices cool.
Overall the product is amazing and worth the steep $330 price tag. But given its elegancy, is a deal.
Buy a friend lunch and you both should be done in half my time. Plus have fun putting in all your components!!!

Looks nice but fit/finish and shipping issues
Posted by: Stuart from: on
My box arrived from Best Buy undamaged, yet the apron board of the bottom panel was completely broken off inside. Bell'O support sent me a new piece packaged well but still a corner was impacted, luckily a rear corner, and not too bad so it'll do. They send a marker for touch-ups. It's just a brown art kit marker. The assembly instructions were fair, for a piece that has no-tools assembly it sure seemed to still be pretty difficult. I read the other reviews about the cabinet door hinges so I didn't even bother with following the instructions there, you're better off reading the reviews for a better procedure.
Finish is a nice stain, yet somewhat inconsistent. you can see in my images the drawers appear 2 to 3 shades off. The doors also, slightly catch wood when closing and one door doesn't close all the way (maybe 1.5mm open). Yes, I'm being picky.
For the price (MSRP ouch!) I'd say it's a fair deal.

Easy to assemble expect for the door hinges
Posted by: Mokey from: on
Even though the instructions said I needed two people to properly assemble the cabinet, I was able to accomplish it by myself by leaning parts against other furniture. My most difficult point was assembling the hinges (and glass doors) onto the cabinet. That took almost as much time for this one stage than all the rest put together. But eventually, with the help of a friend who had some cabinet experience and happened to stop by, we were able to complete it. It works well for a 60 inch screen.

Ok so i had a horrible experiance trying to get a cheaper TV stand shipped to me.. That unit and this one are almost identical in specs, looks, and function.
This is a 99% no tool design. A screw driver is needed at the very least to attach the door and drawer handles. Seriously one of the best pieces i have put together.. with one exception.. The function of the tool less design doesn't allow the top be held securly as you might think. It is completely possible for the top to come off in your hands if that is all you grab to pick up and move the unit. PICK UP from the sides.
This would be a 5 star unit but for 2 things. The Top needs to be better attached and the doors need an easier solution. If you have read any other reviews THEY are NOT kidding about the doors they are a BEAR
It will take some time. i got the top in and pulled the inner latch off and got it matched up the door then screwed the bottom back on.
But over all its a beautiful piece. Great wood and stain. LOVE THE wood back.. not just a piece of card board and the care put into the shelves and bottom with openings for wires and air movement..
The price is 30 dollars to high for a regular price.. Just seems to be getting into the price range or assembled furniture.

A nice stand for our 65" TV
Posted by: BethZ from: on
A nice stand, not too hard to assemble. The size worked nicely for our 65" curve television. We did have some challenges with assembling the doors - found it easier to take the hardware off the doors, attach it to the stand, then reattach to the doors.

Absolutely unacceptable for the price
Posted by: mix1983 from: Anderson, SC on
This was delivered today and I wish I had paid for Geek Squad assembly, because they would have given up and taken it back.
The build started off quite smooth, until it was time to slide the "fake wood" back piece into the stand... and I realized the slot that this slides into was off by 1/4 inch on one side. This threw the whole rest of the process off because now nothing on the back of the unit lines up.
Then came the drawers, the top drawer requires force to open and close while the bottom drawer seems fine.
Finally, the doors. I still cannot get the doors installed!! The hinges seem to need to latch onto the unit somehow, according to the picture book they call instructions. I cannot get this to work, so now I have two gaping holes where doors should be.
I would have been better off buying a much, much cheaper stand from Walmart. I absolutely, 100% regret this purchase.

Looks Like High-end Cabinetry
Posted by: Patrick from: California on
First off -- I HATE having to assemble anything that is supposed to be furniture and dreaded the idea and considered having Best Buy deliver for free and then pay to assemble it for me for the extra $$ -- I would tell anyone buying this unit to save your money, as it was really easy and took me less than a curse-free hour -- after which I was looking for compliments -- hah hah....
Secondly, all of the pieces were contained and packed well in the shipping box so there were no defects on the surfaces or edges; and every screw, bolt and dowel was there too -- the components were clearly marked and instructions easy to follow.
Thirdly, this unit was only slightly more expensive than the others available that would be able to accommodate a 60" TV -- but quality-wise they were night-and-day in appearance even on the showroom floor. The unit is even more visually appealing in natural light in a home setting and looks like a piece of "real" wood furniture -- the color is rich and the glass door and drawer pulls and handles have a burnished finish. It filled the space on a large empty wall perfectly once the TV was placed on top of it.
Although I didn't enter anything in the "what's not so great" box -- this is not really a negative becasuse I think the weight is a benefit for having a secure TV stand -- but you should be aware that once you near the completion stage of assembly that the cabinet is fairly heavy and you may want the assistance of another person to upright it so you don't damage it or yourself....
I would buy another Bell'O product again should the need arise compared to some other disasterous-quality products that I have previously purchased.

Good Product for cost
Posted by: DG81 from: on
For the price, this is a very good cabinet. Of course, it is not real solid wood. Assembly was simple with the use of the pre-installed locking screws. The exception was for the door hinges which were difficult to properly latch together. To hold pieces and prevent damage, you need two people to assemble.
I wish the holes in the back were made to punch out and not completely cut. For my application, the holes show through the front.
