Nice, Low Profile Speaker Posted by: from: Macon, Ga. on I have a Bic America 5.0 system, with a Polk sub. For the money, heck, for anything under $100, considering the size, you won't beat this center. I purchased an Energy RC Micro system last week, and promptly returned it. Why? The weak center channel speaker. Vocals sounded small, and that's a pet peeve of mine. That's what makes this little guy stand out. Handles vocals as well as some full-sized brands. Deep male voices, like Christopher Lee's in 'Lord of the Rings', sound the way they are supposed to. Only occasionally do I hear it strain, and that's usually due to the way the vocals were recorded from the source, not necessarily the speaker's fault. When I upgrade to a bigger center -with wife approval...still working on her- it will probably be within the Bic America family. You can't beat it for value. Very well-made, solid, as well. For $40, you simply can't go wrong Try it out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Great central speaker for living room Posted by: from: Laredo, TX on I didn't have money to buy surround system so I bought this central cleaner and the volume has worked perfectly! The size is perfect since it doesn't take up much space.

Low cost does not mean cheap1 Posted by: from: Kankakee, Illinois on I wanted a center channel speaker for movies. I use DCM Time Frame 500 speakers from the 80's that I will never replace. I wanted a center channel to better enhance what was being spoken. I didn't have much space for a center speaker and I needed to go small or move a lot of equipment. I thought I would try this speaker because it was small and not expensive. I found this to be a real value for a center. It really gets the job done and sounds great. Don't let the small size fool you. This has a large full sound. I don't think I will ever replace this speaker. If you don't have a center speaker give this a try, you'll be happy you did. Remember that good things come in small packages.

Can beat it for the money! Posted by: from: Chicago on I bought this for a secondary system, and I am very pleased with the sound I am getting for $40. I even tried this on my "good" system, and it compared very favorably to a speaker that cost 4X as much (ouch). Heavy magnets. Perfect center speaker for space limited installations. Sounded excellent with both movies and music. Doesn't have that "honky" sound of other value-oriented center speakers

Low priced but effective Posted by: from: Indianapolis, IN on As I get older, surrounding noise makes hearing voices more difficult. This speaker clearly improved my ability to hear voices even when my surround sound is on. Other much pricier models may do better, I don't know, but this speaker helped me a lot. It also fit nicely into my limited space.

Serious bang for your buck Posted by: from: Arlington, VA on I have Bose bookshelf speakers that I am using temporarily in my basement with a brand new Onkyo surround stereo until I figure out where I truly want to set up my home theater. In the meantime I needed a center channel speaker to properly hear voices in movies, etc. this speaker more than takes care of that need and works well with the Bose.

Great balance of sound Posted by: from: on For just a center channel speaker no one should expect insane sound. There is still plenty of range in this speaker. Clear sound all around. Good weight so quality magnets.
