Very pleased! Posted by: from: on You wouldn't think there would be too much of a difference between one vacuum and another, would you? We bought this one because our old one died, we needed a new one fast, and didn't have a whole lot of money to spend on short notice. The price was right and it promised to pick up "embedded dirt and hair". We got it home, put it together and used it for the first time. We were both stunned by how well it worked, so much better than our old one! Our carpets are fairly old, but this vacuum helped to make them look newer. I can feel the difference when I walk barefoot. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

light, powerful vacuum Posted by: from: on As the title states, this vacuum is powerful and light. Some may think the plastic isn't durable, but with the materials used, it is extremely light. Good for places where you have multiple floors and need to carry it up and down often. The suction is great, it was pretty evident in the dust collection that my previous vac wasn't doing good at all. Only thing I would mention is that the hose you use for the smaller accessories (The same one for the actual vac itself) doesn't stretch out easily at first, as the vacuum is too light and you end up knocking down the vacuum if you try to extend the hose to reach somewhere.

best of the $100 vacuums Posted by: from: washington, dc on if you are deciding between the Hoover WindTunnel and the Bissell go with the Bissell. This vacuum does a better job at picking up dirt compared to the Hoover (not saying much). However, a higher end vacuum will probably be more efficient----taking less passes to pick up dirt. The placement of the power cord and power switch should be higher. I don't understand why they decided to put it towards the lower portion of the vacuum. The hose that rests on top of where you wrap the power cord around, falls off while vacuuming. It is very annoying. If you can't afford to spend money then go with this vacuum over the Hoover. If you can afford to spend more than buy a better vacuum!

Some bad but lots of great Posted by: from: on I bought this vacuum after owning a Dyson Animal for 5 years. The Dyson died right after the warranty expired. I did not get the extended protection from Best Buy when I got it, UGH i regret THAT. So I will compare this Bissel with the Dyson Animal: LOVE - Great suction - Light weight - Levered head (the body of the machine can go low in levels to reach under the sofas and stuff, very nifty) HATE - The hose is tiny and doesn't extend much so you have to hold the vacuum next to you or it will fall on you. The Dyson hose was superior in all respects. - You cannot turn off the motorized head. - Fur and junk gets stuck in the top cyclone part of the canister, so opening the bottom is not enough. You have to put your hand inside and unscrew it to get everything out. Granted it is easy to get it out and get it in but who wants your hand in all that junk? - The location of the extended wand (tiny one too) is where you put the cord, so when vacuuming you need to hold it in your hand or it will fall. I use it so I am stuck carrying it. COMPARISONS - The suction is great compared to my Dyson. I have 1 Golden, 1 cat, 1 rabbit and the Bissell actually picks up fur very well. Also, the Dyson sometimes had problems with the hay (straw for the rabbit) but the Bissell has suctioned the hay no problems even with its not-too-perfect hose. - I love the lightweight, compared to the Dyson this is a feather. It is easy to go up and down the stairs. - The cord on the Dyson was a lot longer, the Bissell gets the job done but you may need to unplug a couple of times depending on the size of your home. Not a deal breaker. - I am unsure as to how long this vacuum will last, but for the price and considering my Dyson only lasted 5 years I could have bought a new Bissell every year and have money to spare. If I had the choice, I would buy it again (unlike the Dyson, never buying one again!!!) - so yes I would recommend it.

Great pick up power at an affordable price Posted by: from: on I purchased it for the price and realized how much it really sucks. Cliche I know because I mean that in a god way. The vacuum worked great on all types of surfaces in my home. It's light and glides with ease. The length of the cord generous. The attachments worked great when it came time to cleaning my stairs. Emptying the bagless container was very simple. I've owned expensive vacuums over the years and at the end of the day they all do the same thing. They all suck.

Great if you have pets Posted by: from: Ohio on We purchased the Bissell Clean View vacuum because we were not happy with the way our carpet looked and the amount of dog hair that remained after using our very expensive 9 year old vacuum. My husband mentioned that our daughter has a Bissell. She has a large carpeted home, four children two dogs and a cat. He used it when we visited and "could not believe the suction it had'. We decided we had nothing to loose in making this purchase as the Bissell was on sale for less than $100.00. The first time we used it the difference in the just vacuumed carpet and the not yet vacuumed carpet was noticeable. We are still amazed at the dog hair this machine gets out of carpet. I also appreciate the two filters (washable) and the bagless feature. The onboard tools and hose makes cleaning along baseboards and corners a do as you go job. We highly recommend the Bissell Clean View Upright Vacuum.

Good vacuum Posted by: from: on I have central vac at my house but sometimes I don't feel like pulling out the the big heavy hose to clean up a small spill. This vacuum is great for that. Lightweight and easy to use.

Nice price, quiet, but short on hose Posted by: from: Biloxi, MS on Nice machine, easier to clean and quieter than Hoover bag less cleaner. The major drawback is the short hose with only one extension. You have to bend over to wand floors and can't reach high areas. Does good job picking up dog hair.

Wow, does this clean. Posted by: from: on Purchased for use in comparatively small vacation home. As soon as we began to use this Bissell, it was embarrassingly clear how much dirt and pet hair our previous vacuum had been leaving behind. What an improvement! Bagless dirt catcher and filter are easy to clean. Only reason not to give 5 stars is that the floor roller/beater continues to move (pointlessly) even when you're using the pull-out hose to vacuum small places/items.
