Bosch is a truely fantastic machine and knows how to make dishwashers. Let me just warn you about one thing-Best Buy's description about the drying system is completely inaccurate. It states that this dishwasher has "heated dry". Completely wrong. NONE of the Bosch dishwashers have heated dry. All of them use "condensation drying" method instead which works fantastic. I really wish Best Buy would correct this mistake. I almost returned this washer before giving it a try because the install person said there is no "heated dry" element/coil and most US based manufacturers we used before have heated dry. Anyway, the washer works awesome, it's supremely quiet (you can still hear it running but barely) and most importantly-the dishes come out looking spotless! One quick note, you must use the quick dry liquid in order for the condensation drying to work properly.
Overall, it is a great purchase and the third rack for utensils is fantastic.
Again-Best Buy-get your facts straight!

Oh My Bosch!

FINALLY our quest for a good dishwasher is over! I cannot tell you how happy I am to find a dishwasher that actually CLEANS the dishes. This is our third dishwasher in 3 years... the other 2 (GE & Maytag) were complete disappointments. I read so many reviews I was getting frustrated and who do you trust considering the first two machines had good reviews? We are a busy family that doesn't have enough energy to hand wash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher (call it lazy if you want, but we work full-time and run a business, besides isn't it called a dishWASHER?). We needed a machine that actually cleans the dishes. Nothing else was even important. This D/W has a filter that is super easy to find, remove, clean, and replace - we're talking within a minute you're done. Does it dry the dishes? Yes, but I don't care about that. We can't put our biggest cutting board in it, but I don't care about that either. I just want to put my dishes in, push a button, and put them away when they're done. This machine is perfect for that, with lots of features we haven't even used or figured out yet. Have we had a couple dishes that didn't come clean - yes. It was because we loaded a little heavy or overlapped too much. I can live with that when 99% of the time everything is clean. We're so happy with this Bosch after all the other issues we went through to get to this point. So glad to be done and will definitely buy Bosch again - without a doubt.

Drying Issue opinion
Posted by: HomeschoolMom from: on
Those who don't like this dishwasher often are disappointed with how it dries. I just ran my first cycle on Auto with Sanitize and Intensive Dry on and opened the door immediately upon completion. All my glasses, stoneware and corningware were hot, clean and dry. The plastics were wet. I do have Melamine thick plastic plates and bowls that were warm and dry. I unload all non plastics first from bottom to top and let any wet plastics drip dry. If I cared about wet plastics I would try the rinse aid but a few wet plastics don't bother me. If you want your plastics bone dry you might be disappointed. I am happy with NO rinse aid but I may try vinegar or a more natural rinse aid if I find it a problem or have a load full of plastics. Also to the reviewer that says it uses a lot of rinse aid, check the manual. You can set the amount of rinse aid it uses. It is defaulted to use nearly maximum levels. You can use 0 to 6 I think and I believe the default is 5. I set mine to 0 and my rinse aid compartment is empty.

It is amazingly quiet and cleans very well. The only problem is a bad odor. There is an area in the bottom under the filters that always holds some water, and that's where the odor comes from. I called to have a serviceman check it, and was told that this was normal. He said this happens in all the new dishwasher models. I was quite surprised and disappointed that I just paid a lot of money and I have to put up with the odor. So if other brands in fact have this problem, then I guess there is no choice.

Great Dishwasher !

We purchased this Bosch DW about a month ago. This review is solely on the dishwasher. We love it! It doesn't stack as well as our previous Maytag, but getting used to another way to organize the dishes. It has a top (third) rack for very small items or for extra knives, flatware, egg-turners, spatula, etc. that is a huge assset. The top (second) rack can be moved to a higher/lower position. Another plus! It cleans well but sometimes the drying cycle doesn't dry the dishes completely. When finished, I just leave the door ajar to finish the drying. The design is very modern and the stainless cleans well with silver polish/wipes. The only issue is that you must turn off the DW after it is completed. If you don't, every time you open the door a buzzer goes off (each time) which can be annoying. You must also be careful not to accidentally hit a cycle with your finger/hand when opening and closing the door if not washing the dishes as it will buzz again, each time.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER
Posted by: LizsMom from: on
Have been using the dishwasher for about two weeks and have yet to have dry dishes. Any of them.
I called Bosch today and was told the dishwasher uses condensation drying; there is no heating element and that plastic will NEVER (her word) come out dry. Bosch couldn't explain why the utensils and dishes are wet. Also you have to make sure you remove your dishes within two hours of the cycle finishing or the dishes will become wet again.
Now my concern is that if the unit never dries how long will it be before mold starts.
Save yourself the headache pass on this dishwasher.

BEST DISHWASHER EVER!!! It's so quiet we can barely tell its running. Gets the dishes spotless. Top rack is amazing. It is a long cycle, but set it before bed and wake up to beautifully clean dishes every time!

I am constantly challenging this dishwasher to see what it can't clean. Baked and dried on food on the dishes come out surprisingly clean. The third rack is great for silverware and utensils which means the basket can be taken out of the lower rack leaving room for pots and pans alongside plates. The racks are very versatile allowing tall stemware and tall plates to fit in the same cycle. This dishwasher is also very quiet. It is hard to tell that is even running.

lives up to the expectations

Very quite, 6 cycle washer with delay timer. So far the dishes are coming out very clean. The outer stainless steel finish is not very shiny, so if you plan to buy this dishwasher, you need to buy other appliance of compatible finish. I wish it had a dryer. It is a bit more expensive than other dishwashers that do the same job.

Nice dishwasher, well designed, works well and is very quiet.
Shelving is adequate and will take full size diner plates and well as ice tea glasses in the med level shelf
