Great starter guitar for Rocksmith
I had a chance to try this guitar at a music store and enjoyed it. What I didn't like about the other store was that they would sell me what was already on display, after many people had touched it.
Best Buy had the same guitar for the same price, but included the amp, strap, and other little things.
I've been using the guitar for Rocksmith on Xbox One. Its a good guitar and I would use it to perform in public venues if need be. I've been playing guitar since 2000, but have been on a hiatus for about 6 years. Using this guitar has allowed me to ease in to the world of music. The neck is thin enough to feel comfortable and I really enjoy how it works. Kudos for making a great guitar.
I purchased this set after extensive craigslisting and researching online. Essentially for the sole purpose of using it for Rocksmith Remastered on Xbox One. This setup is what i landed on because it offered the most bang for my buck.
The guitar is quiet solid and looks great. It seems to be a finger print magnet but not a huge deal. Now i'm a complete beginner but i feel like the guitar doesn't stay in tune as well as i'd like. I may upgrade to a set of locking tuners in the future.
The amp is nice, with decent power. Great for your home.
The gig bag is ok. It isn't very padded, but more than adequate for keeping the guitar finish protected while traveling.
The strap is cheap but to be expected. The picks are ok. I wish the they came with thinner ones, especially being a beginner to have a better feeling on where i'm moving. The tuner is ok not entirely accurate but gets the job done.
Overall a pretty good set for the price. I'm excited to keep learning and think i made the right choice to help.

Excellent start-up pack, beyond beginner quality
As an intermediate player needing a full kit for my temporary stay in LA, this was exactly what I was looking for. Epiphone = Gibson, and Gibson = premium quality. Sure, Epiphone is the "beginner" brand, but you are assured a solid quality.
The guitar itself is, as you should expect, the crown jewel of the pack. No real drawbacks except for the fact that the glossy black finish is a fingerprint magnet. Also, I'll probably be changing the strings sooner rather than later.
The amp is not huge, so the bass isn't mind-blowing. But it's more than powerful enough for home use, and has a more than acceptable overdrive effect. The tuner is a handy little thing that clips onto the headstock. Not insanely accurate, but it'll get you to where you can do the fine-tuning yourself. The picks are all of the same shape and thickness, but hey, there's three of them. The bag is rather thin, no real protection for your guitar, but if you want padding or even a hardcase, that's always something that's gonna cost you extra. This one will get your axe from A to B, period. The cable is not very long, and I'm guessing not the sturdiest, but good enough for your room.
