Best MP Printer I've ever used
Posted by: LongTimeTechGuy from: Pittsburgh, PA on
I've owned a number of MP printer/scanner combos, but they never seemed to work all the time when I and needed them to. Most recently, I had an HP Photosmart Premium that, on paper (specifications), was supposed to be faster than this and have better quality. After a few years of the scanner never working, the muiltifeeder being worthless, the network scanning taking too long, the ink dying out EVERY time I wanted to use the printer, I decided enough was enough and replaced it with this Epson. I chose the Epson because many years ago I had used one of their first photo printers and never had a moment's problem with the thing...
...and that's what I LOVE about the WF-4630. I've had it for a few months now and the ink level is still close to the same as when I bought it (I print no more than 20 pages per month at home). It can go a month before I print something and the printer doesn't take forever to warm up, calibrate, clean printheads, complain about ink levels, etc., etc., it just works; which is all I want my home MP printer to do.
The scanner is absolutely awesome and works exactly the way it's supposed to. It was very easy to setup, and I can take a stack of papers, tell the printer to scan to my email address or even upload it into my google drive, and it works quickly and flawlessly.
In summation, if you want a great all purpose photo printer that is also one of the best home scanners on the market, and you just want it to WORK, than this is the one to get. Bye bye HP-- you lost another customer.

The printer works great across WiFi. It was easy to set up as it comes fully assembled. Remove a little tape, hook up and you're off and printing. Comes with full ink cartridges as opposed to those starter cartridges you get with a lot of printers.

Unreliable product quality & cust. service
Posted by: RealUser from: on
After a few months and less than 50 times of printing, the printed documents and pictures showed horizontal streaks and lines. I performed troubleshooting several times and it didn't work. Epson call center told me to replace the initial ink with the new ones and I did. I put a brand new set of inks in that cost me approx. $100/set. I performed several head cleaning again and it didn't work. As Print head cleaning consumes LOTS of ink, all my brand new inks became LOW within 8 head cleaning and nozzle checks. Besides, there has been no improvement at all.
After an hour on the call with their technician, they finally accepted that it could be the hardware issue. As my printer is still in the warranty, I will need to ship this back. However, they will need to hold $179.99 from my credit card with the condition that.... after I get the package from FedEx, if I don't ship back within 7 days, my card will be charged for $179.99!!!
This is a super ridiculous and irresponsible customer service policy, I bought this printer... I need to use this printer for my work but I can't as it cannot produce standard quality printing.... I need to waste my time shipping this back to Epson.... and I have to let them hold the $$$ to guarantee that I will ship it back.
This will be my last time to buy Epson Products.

Great addition to my home office

The printer was easy to sync with my wireless devices, both Apple and PC. Impressive print quality and it prints fairly fast for an ink jet. Very user friendly.

Last about 6 months
Posted by: AKE80 from: on
I purchased this printer a year ago and it worked great for 6 months. Then it started putting lines on every page I printed. This is not a problem when I am just printing for me, but when I have to print gift certificates or proof ads for our business it becomes quite problematic. I have cleaned it so many times through the maintenance section of the printer and it keeps getting worse. It also runs out of ink WAY faster than the guy at best buy told me it would.

Best Printer for Home Businesses
Posted by: DannyShane from: NY on
I have one and my mother has one at her home as well. Both of us used to spend so much money on ink every month using the little $150 printers. These have very large print cartridges. Yes they cost more, but you will spend much less per year on ink. I am going on 4 months without changing out the cartridge. These printers are more efficient with their ink usage because they are designed for small businesses. A great feature of this printer is that it is wireless, so I can print from my laptop while out on the couch or anywhere in the house. another great feature is that there are multiple paper trays, this allows us to put shipping labels in the rear tray and regular paper in the removable tray. It can also print on both sides of a paper, and a few other features... definitely recommend this printer.

Failed in 10 Months
Posted by: JayC from: on
10 months of light usage and the printer is dead. I have done more research after it died and it seems to be a common occurrence with the Epson line these days. I'd recommend choosing another product line. Took it back to Best Buy and they told me to call Epson. I just left it there on the counter and walked out as it's just a $200. paperweight to me. Best Buy, you should offer better service when the product is still under it's 1 year warranty and not just tell me to "Call Epson...".

Piece of junk
Posted by: Businessman from: on
My EPSON printer broke after a little more then a year and printing less then 4000 pages. I called Epson and they asked me to put new ink cartridges in (over $100) and then they tried cleaning the heads. It didn't help at all at which time they said it was a hardware problem and there was nothing they could do. They wouldn't fix the printer, send me a new one nor refund me for the ink. Needless to say I will NEVER buy an EPSON printer again.

Great Options, bad printer
Posted by: Mike from: on
The printer had a lot of nice options that my HP didn't have. Setup was easy, but it took a while to get through the cloud setup and stuff. Then after a month and half the black started smudging and streaking across the page about every inch of text down the page. Called support, ran the printer through 3 nozzle cleanings. This did not fix it. They promptly sent me a refurbished printer. This one made it short of four months before it started doing the same thing. I am now working with Epson Support again to get another printer. The nozzle cleaning goes through what seems to be a quarter of the ink for two cleanings.
