Q: what size room does a 30 pint dehumidifier cover? what size room does a 50 pint dehumidifier cover?
A: I purchased the 30 pint. I looked on Frigidaire's site but couldn't find a room size. I use it for our basement which is pretty big (30x25). It works great and it constantly drains using a hose that I attached.

The dehumidifier only remove humidity, however, removed humidity makes the living space more comfortable. You will still need to supplement this with air conditioning. For example 74 degree air with 43% humidity feels as comfortable as 71 degree air with 57% humidity. Removing humidity is a must for comfort. Your air conditioner fights the humidity that is rising from your basement.
A: Yes it is on wheels. They aren't heavy duty but work fine on our cement basement floor. Its a little tougher to push on carpet but all dehumidifiers seem that way in my opinion.

Q: how long is the original warranty ?
A: Hi Ussi5674! I was able to see that the dehumidifier is covered by a limited one-year warranty and a limited 2-5 year warranty on the sealed system (the compressor, condenser, evaporator and tubing). -CiCi
Q: Does it have a built-in water pump?
A: No. It has a separate drain, but not a pump.
Q: Specify exact hose size needed? Must one have 3 prong outlet or can one use 3 prong adapter?
A: A regular garden hose. 3 prong is needed for safety since water is involved.
Q: Does this have a filter that needs to be changed periodically?
A: It has a washable filter.
