A: no......drainage is poor.....I voided the warranty and drilled a small hole in the pan.....otherwise the fan hits the built up water, and it sounds like a water fountain from the inside. Works great now....don't quite know why there isn't a drainage hole to begin with?
A: Inside every refrigeration unit (i.e.: air conditioner) there is a compressor. The compressor circulates refrigerant and compresses it from a gas to a liquid continually. The compressor is lubricated by oil which sits in the bottom of the cylindrical can containing the compressor itself. If you install it in any other position than horizontal/flat, the oil inside that can will move to a position where it will do no good. Also, the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator (the "radiator of cold") will not flow correctly. In short, you will bring the unit back to the store because it "stopped working" within a few days--if not hours. Try one of those indoor coolers with the plastic duct that hangs out the window. That should work better for a vertical application.
Q: How many inches in length do the spacers extend on each side of the unit?
A: This unit will extend to 36 inches in window width.
Q: Can this unit be used for an in-wall installation?
A: I doubt whether this can be used as a in wall a/c. its built to be placed outside the window so that there is proper ventilation and drainage. You would need to buy the in wall unit specifically for the purpose you are inquiring about.
Q: does it come with remote control
A: This appliance comes with a remote control.
