Nice little tablet
I looked at Apple iPad Air and Mini with Retina, but decided to buy this LG Pad for two reasons: * I find iPad Air too big to hold, esp with one hand. * Was very tempted to buy the Mini with Retina, but dropped that idea because I own an Android phone and didn't want to remember two ways of doing everything. Coming to pros/cons of the LG Pad.. Pros: * I personally like the 8/8.5" screen size better than smaller 7" tablets or bigger 10" ones * I would have liked the tablet to be slightly lighter than it is, but still it's not bad and holding it for an hour or two doesn't cause any inconvenience. * You can open an app such as notepad in a pop-up window which stays on top of any other app that might be running. That way you can keep let's say a web page visible, look at some info on it and note it down in a notepad. * After a full recharge, battery easily lasts for 7/8 hours. Things that could have been better: * Quality of pics clicked with this tablet is not too great. * Speakers are of average quality. There are some other features which I haven't tried yet but could be useful, such as: "Q Pair" which lets you pair the tablet with any Android smartphone (get call notifications, memo transfer), "Q Remote" - use the tablet as a remote control for your TV. Hope this review helps you in making your decision.

Best 8-inch android tablet
One of the best, if not the best 8-inch android tablet. Very light as well, comfortable to hold with one hand for a very long time, great for presentation. Screen is very bright with fast processor, not the fastest. Micro SD slot adds much more storage (up to 64 Gig) without breaking bank (i.e. what ipad will charge you). Above average sound quality. Battery is above average, will last you around 7 hour of WIFI and video use. Price is more at the higher end, $350, the only downside for me.

Great basic android tablet
The display is brilliant and functions very smoothly. So far I am very happy with this tablet. It is thick enough that I don't feel like I have to be super careful with it but lightweight enough to be portable and easy to use on the go.

Great buy
Bought this for my wife to replace her iPad - this turned out to be a win. The screen on this is outstanding, really bright, crisp and easy to read. The knock-on feature is cool but the note overlay feature(don't recall the actual name) is useless. It allows you to mark up a screen, save it & email but it's not very well thought out. The Qpair feature works well done and can be useful. *tip... When you first fire this up it says you need to update this app but trying to update from Play store it says "not compatible with your device", turns out you need to update this from the LG update app in your app drawer. The standard keyboard is great but my wife did mention that because the space bar is so small & centrally located she often inadvertently hits "home" when hitting space as the gap is very small. The tablet is fast and handles everything you throw at it. The only slight negative I could fine is the overall battery life. It's not terrible by any means but it would be nice to get a little more time out of it. Overall I think this is an excellent tablet and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I debated between this and the Galaxy Note 8 - although the S Pen is a neat feature on the Galaxy I found that the display(full HD vs 1280x800) and overall feel/usability was cleaner on the LG.

Great tablet with lots of features
I've never owned another tablet because they were just to complicated. The LG G Pad 8.3 is easy to use and navigate especially with the sliding front screen. The speed at which I can browse the internet is great though having the latest Android version would be better. My only disappointment is I cannot sync my Fit Bit which is one of the primary reasons I bought the tablet. An update to Android 4 Kit Kat is supposed to solve this issue but no update is available at this time. The tablet is the perfect size for viewing and yet completely portable.
