A: Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Yes, this model has the option of converting it to a non-vented recirculating exhaust. In fact, all of our over-the-range microwaves can be vented through the top, out the back or recirculating. You will need to follow the instructions in the Installation Instructions on how to properly change the venting. If you are changing from a vented unit to a non-vented unit, you will need to purchase a charcoal filter. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
