Worth every penny if you don't have an aux

Posted by: from Madison, WI on 08/30/2012The auto Geek Squad at my store had never installed one of these before, and they joined my speculation in why it doesn't sell more (or why it was never carried in their store, as I had to order this online). The other iSimples are nice. I had previously owned one with an iPod connection, and had it changed to an aux wire when I purchased my Galaxy Note. Unfortunately, my phone headphone jack started to have issues and I needed a new solution. I wasn't prepared to get a whole new phone or new MP3 player. I wanted to listen to music with Spotify, and I wanted my phone GPS to chime in through my speakers and interrupt if needed. Call me greedy. This was an excellent solution. The sound quality is fantastic, although I recommend locking the device in for a higher band FM radio station. On that note, the station is somewhat customizable (as opposed to the single locked in station on my previous iSimple) - but it is only customized through their official Android app ("TranzIt BLU ISFM21 iSimple App", if you're looking). The same app also offers an "auto-wake" to turn the device on automatically. I declined to use it and opted for a good old fashioned on/off switch like my previous iSimple in the event someone without the app wants to listen to music through Bluetooth as well. I think some people are confused in that they think this is just an overpriced FM transmitter as opposed to a modulator. This ties in directly with a car's FM antenna, and when flipped on it dedicates an assigned station to the device that cannot be interfered with. The old iSimple has been a trip lifesaver, and I can tell this will be equally great. The only downsides I have found are that you may have to turn the device on and off if you have trouble pairing. Your AM radio is also no more after the install (as with my previous iSimple), so if sports and talk radio mean a lot to you, check out the various app solutions for streaming radio.

Posted by: from on 04/03/2012I installed this in under 10 mins in my Jeep Wrangler. Audio quality is great. The only neg thing I can say is that the included instructions are vague as to where to find the android app.
