Q: Does this Laptop come with the problematical Superfish software pre-installed?
A: Mine had Superfish on it. Of course, the news came out about it about 2 days after I bought the laptop. I promptly uninstalled it and then within a week or so Lenovo posted a tool on their website in order to totally and completely remove it. Keep in mind Superfish was only included on Lenovo machines manufactured for about a 3 month period.
Q: Can anyone confirm how well the battery performs? And if it starts up quickly?
A: I have had no complaints on battery performance thus far having bought the laptop a month ago. I haven't measured how long the battery last though. If I remember, I will post shortly after determining that. Upon turning on the power, Windows is ready to be logged into in about 15 seconds. About 25 to 30 seconds later you can have Google Chrome open and ready to browse.
Q: Does this Laptop come with Downgrade rights to install windows 7?
A: You can download something called Classic Shell which makes 8 look like 7....not that it matters, in a few months Windows 10 drops and it's supposed to be free for users of Windows 7 & 8
A: Very simple procedure.....go to control panel and uninstall, then go to certificates and make sure it's gone....there are many good articles online on how to remove it......All in all, it's a non-issue.
A: It handles skyrim and elder scrolls online without lag
Q: Can Windows 8 be configured to look like Windows 7?
A: Using a downloadable program called Classic Shell you can easily make 8 look like 7.
Q: Does this come with a Windows 8 installation disk ?
A: No it does not...
A: Nope...the keyboard is not backlit. If you are in a dark room, all you can do is tilt the screen to get some light on the keyboard.
