Good microwave Posted by: from: on We were torn about which microwave to get. We needed one to fit on the counter, but not so big that it would take up the entire counter. We also needed something large enough to handle our normal cooking tasks. This worked out to be a good balance of price, size, power, and features. There are a couple of things I don't like, but I'd say they're somewhat minor. The glass on the door is pretty dark and very hard to see inside when something is cooking. I realize it's a mirrored look, but it would be nice if the light inside could make it so we could see the food heating. The buttons are a little hard to read unless you're at the right angle and pretty close to the microwave because of the mirrored finish. The mirrored finish also attracts fingerprints like crazy. They clean up easily, but do show quite a bit, especially with small kids around. None of those detract from the function of the microwave to heat food, but could make a difference to some.

Not happy Posted by: from: on There,s a few thing I don,t like about this microwave. The door is black and you can,t see in when something is heating. The inside is dark with poor lighting . The selection panel is dark and hard to see the only good thing about it it works I would have returned it but being 83 Yrs old that,s not easy.

Poor keypad downgrades an otherwise good unit. Posted by: from: on I purchased this as it was priced well below even smalller units and a great brand. The unit performs great with one obvious flaw--the keypad is nearly illegible. Because of the mirrored surface, one cannot simply see the buttons. You have to look at just the right angle to view what the buttons read. Moreover, there is no simple and obvious 30 sec button, but rather "EZ on" that you have to strain to find. No wonder it was on clearance. The only reasons to buy it are if it matches your other appliances with the mirrored surface and you don't expect to use it much, or if it's price so low as I found it.

Great on the basics Posted by: from: on Well, it's a microwave and that's about it. Our old microwave died and we've now had this one a little over a month. I loved our old microwave and looked for one that had similar features. I wanted a 30 second function along with the 10 second more/less capability. I also wanted one that didn't continuously beep when done - but this one fails in that feature in that it gives four beeps when done and then three beeps every minute after that, but it will only do it four times and then it stops. I find the sensor cook settings to be completely useless since you have to take the food out of it's packaging (ie: microwave packaging) and put it in a dish covered with plastic wrap. Even after following directions it seems to either cook too long or not long enough (admittedly, I've only used this a couple times). It's also lacking in power, our old microwave was also 1100 watt but heated faster/better than this one. What took one minute in the old microwave takes one minute and 25 seconds in this one. It is near impossible to see inside while cooking unless the room is darkened .. but then it will be impossible to read the buttons;you will need good lighting to read the buttons. This microwave will meet your basic needs and looks kind of cool (except for the fingerprints that show very easily), but it's not anything to brag about. I would recommend this microwave because it meets our basic needs but not if you want to use the sensor.

Don't waste money on LG. Posted by: from: on This LG microwave lasted about 4 months before it died. It was only used a handful of times per week. I called LG since it was still under warranty. The referred me to a local appliance business for warranty repairs. Now that I have been without a microwave for one week, they finally looked at it and said that a new part "transformer" needed to be ordered and that it should arrive sometime in the next week or so. This is ridiculous for a $180 microwave. I could have bought 3 cheap ones for this price and at least had something that worked instead of having my money tied up in a non working microwave awaiting repairs for multiple weeks.

Looks Great, Lousy Panel Posted by: from: Chatham, NY on Looks great. Would be great if the touch keys were visible. With my reading glasses on, and a flashlight, I can sorta' make out the touch keys. Tiny gray letters on a black background with no backlight. The only thing visible is the clock...which you can hide with the energy saving option on the cancel/stop key. Whoever designed this must not have looked at the touch panel in a normally lighted kitchen. It may work well,t if I could only see the touch panel keys. Returning it tomorrow to Best Buy. Learned my lesson not to buy from the Best Buy web site for store pickup without not seeing the product first. My bad...and LG's bad for a bad design.

Replacing microwave that stopped working Posted by: from: on I had a white built in Whirlpool Gold that stopped working after 13 years. I had a hard time finding a white microwave with the same measurements. This is the only reason I bought this one because it came close to measurements I needed and it was white. I thought I could just live with the mirror front but I do not like it especially on the key pad...the white font/numbers against the mirror makes it hard read what you trying to select. Also, there is not an option for turning off the sound like my old microwave. If I could I would take this back and keep searching.

Unacceptable quality Posted by: from: on Read reviews and did my research and picked out this unit. Everything seemed to work fine until on month 13 of owning the microwave it suddenly broke. LG would not stand by their product because it was out of warranty , by only a month mind you. I am so disappointed that after only 13months that a 169.00 machine is now useless . Would not recommend this product to anyone and I will no longer be buying LG based off this experience.

Has the features for a decent price Posted by: from: Beverly, MA on Bought this to replace a Sharp that lasted about 20 years, if that exact one were still available, I would have bought it again. This MW looks good on the counter, but it needs soft rubber feet to keep it from sliding around when you press the door open button. I like the keypad in terms of cleaning, it wipes clean easily, but the buttons can take a medium hard press to register. Sensor cook works perfectly for popcorn. Other units I've owned and used have a minute+ button, hit it once to go for a minute, twice for two, etc. This unit does the same but in 30 second units, so for a minute, you have to press it twice. Also, I'd like to press in the amount of time then hit the timer to time something, but the timer on this is more complicated - you have to press timer, then the time, then start. That takes a little getting used to. One thing I like is that when cooking is done and it beeps, if you don't open the door, it will beep again in a short while to remind you that something's still in there (and keep on doing this until you press stop or open the door).

Good not great Posted by: from: on Bought this microwave because it was the closest fit to my built in size. Microwave takes longer then previous one that was 1200 w. This one is 1100 but old one took 1 min 30 sec to boil water, this one 2 min so the 1000 w diff is a lot. This microwave looks great! But, the great looks have a cost. The touch pad is a bit hard to see because it is has a reflective finish. The inside is dark grey and not white, plus the light is on the side rather than in the back. This makes it a bit hard to see the food while cooking. That is why I said it was good and not great.
