Alarm clock radio functional but... Posted by: from: on The Memorex - CD Alarm Clock Radio is definitely functional. I had to buy it in a hurry when my other one broke. This was the only type left at BB after BB had a sale on alarm clock radios. The radio works fine, unless there is interference with the antenna and then the sound can get fuzzy. It offers the choice of using one or two alarms, which can be useful if you need something beyond a snooze feature to wake up or you and your partner/spouse want to use the same unit to wake up at different times. My main issue is with the setting the alarm. You have the option to use 24 hour or 12 hour timing, but you have to cycle through the 24 hour selection first. It isn't always clear if it changed from 24 hour to 12 hour and sometimes I have to do it 2-3 times to make sure it has the correct time set on the alarm. I found the alarm feature on my last clock radio easier to set and use because I could go forward or backward to set the time. The Memorex is not as intuitive. Also, I wanted to play a CD on it, but the CD function is not straight forward. You have to reset the alarm button on the side to the CD selection as if you were changing it for your alarm rather than just using the CD player. Once you are done playing a CD, you have to go back and change the selection back to radio or buzzer to have the alarm play the sound that you prefer to wake up to. A little inconvenient and annoying. I did not find clear instructions on how to make this change in the instruction booklet, either.

Very good alarm clock for low end purchase Posted by: from: on The alarm clock does what it should, giving the option to wake you with a tone, radio or CD (that's programmable). The ability to brighten or dim the display is a plus. The main issue I don't care for is the speakers. The volume isn't bad, but the speakers are a bit tinny, so if you want to simply listen to music, don't expect Hi-Fi quality.

JUST DOESN'T WORK Posted by: from: on I received one as a Christmas present. I was able to set the time, but when I tried to set the alarm time, it would keep resetting itself to 12 midnight when I turned the alarm on. Also, the C.D. player wouldn't work and the radio didn't sound at all good. I returned it to BEST BUY for an exchange and when I got home found that the new one I had just picked up was also a returned unit. (It was improperly packed ant the instructions were missing.) I brought it back to the BEST BUY and got another unit and stayed at the store to verify that it worked properly. Even the store's employees couldn't get the C.D. player to work. "Is it live or is it Memorex ?" This one was just plain dead. I gave this item 1 star, but that was only because I couldn't give it a negative star rating.

worth the money Posted by: from: on Purchased this unit for a spare bedroom. The one I had in there died, & as said in an earlier review these type are now hard to find for a reasonable price. Sure wasn't going to get a Bose like I have in my master bedroom. Get what you pay for & I think this unit has better sound than I expected, much better. No one who has stayed in that over flow guest suite complained or had problems using it. Am totally satisfied with it & would certainly purchase again! Glad I bought it.

Great bedside alarm clock/radio/cd player Posted by: from: Kansas City, MO on Was looking for a small bedside alarm clock/radio. The Memorex was just the ticked, as despite the small size, the display was large and very readable, and had adjustable brightness. I took a short time to learn all the features, but was very satisfied with the product once it was set up. The sound quality is superb, and am quite please with the purchase.

Combination Alarm Clock and CD Player Posted by: from: Scottsdale, AZ on As a combination alarm clock and CD player, this was the best one we could find by looking at a number of places. The price was right and the features we wanted were there. It also is a relatively small unit so it fits nicely on one of our bedside tables.

don't buy Posted by: from: on I purchased this based on features and reviews. It was a bit pricey for me and I don't shop at Best Buy because of their poor return policy. But I took a risk and now I am out $50 because two months after purchase (outside of the BB return policy) it's broken. And of course I can't exchange it. I should stick to my own shopping policies and avoid the Best Buy.

Almost perfect Posted by: from: Minnetonka, MN on I bought this because my boys wanted a clock, alarm clock and a way to play their CDs at night before bed. It does all of that pretty simply. My only complaint is that you can't set the alarm to use an alarm signal/sound and still play a CD separate - by that I mean if the boys want to fall asleep to their CD, then the "alarm" sound is the CD playing and they can't have the alarm be a buzzer. Well when they fall asleep to a CD, it is not something that generally also would wake them up in the morning because they are trained to sleep with that music on. But other than that, it works great for them.

VERSATILE ALARM Posted by: from: Cuyahoga Falls, OH on The unit allows two alarm time settings, and CD, radio or alarm options. I wake up to a peaceful jazz CD and listen to my favorite radio station while I prepare for the day. I can fall asleep to music with a timed shut off. The unit is practical and versatile and provides background music as well as an alarm. Compact bed stand design. Meets all my requirements.

2 alarms are great but... Posted by: from: Hillsboro, Or-e-gun on Replacing an old "atomic" alarm clock that died. Others have said it but instructions are Very confusing.! Power OFF to program.? I did like the BIG digital display that can be dimmed for sleeping. Always nice to have 2 alarms - weekday and weekend. But could NOT find a way to review alarm time/s without having to re-set time all over again.
