Slow Posted by: from: on I know I am going against the grain here but I had a hard time staying awake playing this game. The two hour intro was ridiculous, Not exactly sure how long the intro was but it was waaaayyyyy to long. It is not that I do not appreciate the work that went into it, I just did not enjoy doing nothing for that long. There is a ton to learn playing the game, which is cool and it has gotten more fun, but it is so slow, I kept wanting to fall asleep playing the game. I love sneaky and sniper types of games, so I understand and like slow, but this so far has not worked for me. I am going to eventually give it a shot again and will update my review at a later date. I am sure it will eventually pick up.

Great Game Posted by: from: on I bought this game at launch and played it for countless hours until I finally got the platinum trophy. This game is extremely fun due to how you can choose to attack a mission. If you like sneaking that is an option, if you like full on assault that is an option, if you like sending in your talented sniper to take out the enemy that is also an option. These are just a few of the ways a player can complete the 50+ missions and 100+ side quests available in this game.

The Best Metal Gear Solid Game Posted by: from: on In an open world Metal Gear game, you can approach missions in numerous ways, no two gameplay are the same. You will have fun playing this game, being stealthy as always is the best way to play, but then there's a day-night cycle, and sand storms. The main story can about 30 hours or so to complete, then there's side missions to do, as well as multiplayer. It's the Best Metal Gear game I've played, because it's open world, and if you love open world gameplay, with a stealthy approach, you will love this game. I brought the game on sale at Best Buy for $20, so I'm ecstatic.

GAME OF THE YEAR?? Posted by: from: on Awesome gameplay....Great graphics and animation....Several different ways to complete missions, go stealth or guns a blazing...Tons of fun either way. The Metal Gear series continues to shine here. For the money, you absolutely cannot beat it!!!

One of the best games I've played Posted by: from: on I've put well over 100 hours into this game, beat every mission and everything. The game is so good I decided to buy it again after not having it for a while and go back to S rank missions I hadn't prior. Go buy the game...

Hands down my GOTY Posted by: from: on If you want a game that was always innovative in the past, but then does a complete change in gameplay and makes it even better in some ways, this is the one. MGS being open world like this makes it feel like it is how it was always meant to be played. You're just free to go anywhere and do anything from the start. The story and the flow of the game is my only con for this game. In the past MGS story was told to you right up front, in this you kind of have to go out f your way and listen to cassette tapes to get more info and a better understand of what's really going on. But at the same time its nice to be able to listen to the tapes whenever you want. I think the gameplay and stealth in MGS V is the best in the series, however there are not really any big boss battles like in the previous games. Everyone should give this game a try, and I think it's possible to go into this game without having played the other ones/

Kojima is crazy Posted by: from: Gliroy, CA on After playing the last Metal Gear which was a great ending to the series I was a little leery of another game. But I've really enjoyed the previous games so I kept an open mind on this one. So far I'm about 25% done and it's a fun game. It can be a bit repetitive though. You basically just go on missions and capture or rescue people trying not to be seen the whole time. Not being spotted is VERY difficult in the beginning but gets easier once you can bring along buddies like the dog or Quiet as they will help to spot enemies for you. The game mechanics are pretty intricate as you can do things like leave your horse or a jeep in the middle of the road if you are trying to capture a target that is in a moving vehicle. The NPC's will actually stop and try to deal with the road obstruction. It can be pretty funny watching what they do. So far I would call this game good but not great. I don't think it is as good as Guns of the Patriots as that game was completely epic, (I still think about the boss battles in that game), but it is fun.

crazy good Posted by: from: on This is one of the most challenging and time consuming games I've played. There's so much planning ahead & recon to be done before just jumping into combat in a mission. you have to scope everything out to find the stealthiest plan of attack. You die? You start the mission over. Tedious. But still so worth it. I was put off a little by the beginning of the game. But once you get into Afghanistan, it starts to get really fun. Definitely one I would recommend

Different than previous mgs Posted by: from: on In a lot of ways this part of mgs doesn't feel like a mgs game. At times it does. The world is massive to roam around freely except when you start a mission. When in a mission you are boarder within a zone. You have allies that'll aid you on your missions if you choose to. You can also play as other people that you have recruited. You can call in supplies, reinforcement, vehicles, etc. Whenever you need to. The game does change depends on how you play. To many night mission and your enemies will start using night vision. To many head shots and they'll wear helmets. You do have teams you can send out on missions to stop supplies to the enemies. Or to recruit new members, gather supplies, etc. Still worth a buy to play through if you been playing the series. But, eventually you might get bored of the process the game operates of repeating the same thing over and over. And I do realize games do that, but it's how they manage to make the game fun and interesting. I find myself getting bored after awhile and stop playing for awhile.

Must-Own Posted by: from: on Some of the best gameplay and graphics I've ever witnessed on console. Some didn't like the story, but I loved it!
