A: You can definitely make soup with this unit however you would still need to microwave it after it is blended. Ninja also makes the BL 800 which is almost identical to a Vitamix. Yet that system is about $379.00 the difference between the two ninjas being almost $200 helps me to just put the soup in the microwave.
Q: Is this strong enough to make ice cream? If so will it give the correct texture?
A: Yes! I’ve been making dairy free ice cream so,smoothing frozen coconut milk,frozen bananas frozen non dairy milk it has grinded right through until smooth. One really good recipe with dairy Whisk 2 cups heavy whipping with tsp vanilla pour into ice cubes tray freeze 2-3 hours and then blend in food processor attachment with 4cups fresh peaches or fresh mangos or strawberries basically any fruit and your choice of sweetener amazing results!
A: It has a dough making attachment for the food processor which is a dull double hook and an actual "dough" speed button. It works well. But of course it's limited by the volume of the food processor bowl which is the standard size you see with all food processors.
A: Yes, the main blade in the Big mixer easily separates for cleaning, and the individual smoothie blade is super easy to clean. Just be careful as these blades are sharp as knives.
Q: Would this be considered a food processor?
A: Yes and no. The smaller bowl can be used for some food processor functions but you don't have the assortment of blades of the feeder you would have on a traditional food processor. After purchasing this model I contacted ninja and they sold me a more traditional food processor with feeder and blades that works with base. Works great.
Q: does the blender part pulverize veggies like apples carrots..hard stuff..for smoothies?
A: Yes, I have done celery, apples, carrots, heck .. pistachios!! I even done frozen berries with the minimum amount of milk and its basically ice cream :)
