This is an improved replacement head
I've owned several Norelco razors over the last 30 years. The current razor which requires this replacement head has been my favorite by far. I had issues with the original head/blades that came with this razor. I had always intended on writing a letter to Norelco on ways they could improve the performance of it. They must have received letters from other users because this new model incorporates several of the ideas that I would have proposed. The razor gives a very clean shave. This is the second replacement head that I've purchased. The first one lasted a year. I did a test. I let my beard grow out for two days and then used the 1 yr old head on one side and the new one on the other side. Definitely sharper/cleaner shave with the new one. I didn't realize how dull the old one was until I did that comparison. These things are very expensive. I think one way they could reduce the cost is to only sell the three replacement blades like they do on their cheaper models. With this new model, there is no reason to have to buy a new head unit each time. Also, of the 30 years in owning Norelco razors, I have never had one where the plastic cover for the head doesn't break within 2-4 weeks of use. This one lasted 4 weeks. Oh well, I keep my razor in a zipped up razor pouch to keep the heads from getting damaged. I would love to test future Norelco razors for Phillips. I have a fast growing beard and am always looking for ways to reduce my shaving time and improve the quality of shave.

Good cut
This is a different head set than what had been originally included. From what I recall it gives just as good a shave as the orignal set did when it was new. This set is easier to pull apart and clean out.

Fine replacement blades that do the job.
Contrary to a number of other reviews, I think the replacement blades do the job just fine. I agree, the comfort level is not quite the same as the original blades, but after a few shaves, the comfort and quality of the shave improved.
