A: Yes it will CLONE it exactly. All hidden partitions and boot sectors will be cloned. The hard disk size needs to be close in size though. A 480 gig ssd will CLONE fine from a 500 gig drive.
A: In basic terms: Ultimately the spacer is for older laptop models that have "extra" space in the hd slot. You can put the ssd in place without it, however there may be room for the ssd to move around/rattle. With the spacer, that extra room is filled. With newer laptops you will not have this issue at all (laptops are so much thinner than they used to be). Older higher end laptops (MacBooks) that still have room for a 2.5" hd, won't need the spacer (usually there are bracket screws to put into place). If you are wanting to put this into a 3.5in slot: 1st check your computer case and see if it already can support 2.5in. If not, you will need a 2.5 to 3.5 bracket. You can grab them for less than 6 bucks on Amazon.
Q: Will this work as an internal HD in a full size PC?
A: Yes it will, with an adapter. Very common to use a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter to mount SSD in a a full-size drive bay. They are inexpensive and available online or in some stores.
A: Possibly, but it might not work as expected. I tried to use one of these to replace the physical drive in a low-end Dell system, but discovered that the CPU and motherboard were not able to keep up with the drive. Before this, the computer was slow and only able to run one or two things, afterward, it MIGHT be faster at times, but generally it simply stuttered. So the key to this working is how good the motherboard is, and whether it can handle a much much faster drive.
Q: Hi This disk work with a Macbook pro mid 2010 ??
A: The drive needs to be reformatted first before it will work with the Mac OS. The disk utility found through Spotlight will perform this task. SuperDuper should be used to clone the previous HD to this SSD.
A: The drive includes the software, but you will need an additional SATA cable. You will need to install the Acronis software and then install the new hard drive using that extra SATA cable. Use the software to copy the contents from your old drive to the new SSD drive. Remove the old drive and you'll be running on the new drive.
A: Before Cloning you should shrink you Windows drive partition to a value of less than 480GB then Clone it to the 480GB. After the clone go back in to Disk Manager and Expand the drive back to the full 480GB of the new SSD.
A: Yes it should work. We cloned the drive and had no issues with Windows 10 on the laptop.
