A:Answer Yes - the USB 3.0 interface is fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, you will just not achieve the faster data rate of a USB 3.0 port. You will note that the USB 3.0 interface on the drive itself will not fit your older USB 2.0 cables, but the drive (as do most USB 3.0 devices) comes with it's own USB 3.0 cable. The end that plugs into your computer is the same familiar flat USB plug that will fit any USB 2.0 or 3.0 port.
