A: Yes. My Mac with 10.10.1 Yosemite runs this (plug and play) just great.
Q: What is the speed of the drive in RPM?
A: Yes it is 7200 RPM.
Q: Can I use this for more than one MacBook Pro?
A: Yes. You can but not simultaneously. You will just need to eject the drive before removing from each MBP to avoid data corruption.
Q: Can this be used with Apple macOS Sierra 10.12.1? Will it interface easily with Time Machine?
A: This model works with Apple Time Machine.
Q: Can this be used with a 2.0 USB port?
A: Yes - the USB 3.0 interface is fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, you will just not achieve the faster data rate of a USB 3.0 port. You will note that the USB 3.0 interface on the drive itself will not fit your older USB 2.0 cables, but the drive (as do most USB 3.0 devices) comes with it's own USB 3.0 cable. The end that plugs into your computer is the same familiar flat USB plug that will fit any USB 2.0 or 3.0 port.
A: Yes this drive will backup all data. It can also be used as Time Capsule.

A: Yes it can be used as a Time Capsule. Pretty easy to setup once placed on the network.
Q: CanI download photos from a PC to this drive then onto my Mac?
A: Yes you need to have all devices on the same network then just map the drive on the PC and Mac. From there you will be able to move files from each device.
