Connect to the Web with this Samsung BD-H6500/ZA Blu-ray player. To build a complete 3D home theater system, we recommend you purchase a 3D TV, 3D glasses designed for the TV, high-speed HDMI cable and an A/V receiver that is compatible with 3D products.
Q: HD-H6500 "This cannot be performed because of disc restriction".
A: Did u connect to the Internet and see if there were any software updates? I did for mine and it works now.
Q: Will this player only play 3d movies or can I play regular DVD's and blu rays as well
A: You can play regular blu ryas and DVDs on this player
Q: Does this support Amazon Prime?
A: Yes. I have watched Prime Instant Videos on this player. It loads faster than 3 other players I have used.
Q: Is a 4K TV required to view the UHD upscale
A: yes, as the blueray player natural resolution is 1920x1080, which is the normal scale on a HD screen. Anything over that is a 2k or 4k display. So to use the upscaling requires a screen that can use that resolution.
Q: What cords needed for hookup?
A: You need an HDMI cable for the output signal to get to your TV or HDMI source switch. If you had a good cable from before going to this player, it will work fine for this one; otherwise it is a good idea to get a better cable than the cheapest ones for this bandwidth of signal. You don't need an Ethernet cable as it has Wi-Fi. You only need to connect to Wi-Fi if you plan on using the apps on the BD player. The apps on this unit are good, but could be redundant if you have another device that has apps (the TV itself or you have another app device like Roku, AppleTV, etc.)
Q: Can I EASILY connect to Amazon Prime?
A: Yes you can. I didn't have an Amazon Prime account prior to buying this product. But got one. Its easy to set up. Although I would suggest having a Wi-Fi keyboard and mouse. It would just make it easier to move around because if you do not have them, you use the remote controller. I was dreading turning the system off and having to re-enter all my personal info each time I turned it on. The great news is, you don't have to! I turn the device on, click the Amazon Icon, and it takes you right into the program. I love that!! I think you'll be happy if you purchase this product.
Q: Does this player stream content on your network?
A: yes, you install software on your computer called Samsung Link and you can stream that to the player. I use it often and it works great
Q: Does it play Double Layer Disc?
A: Yes, I've played a few but the manual/specifications will state otherwise. I'm having issues play standard commercial discs and getting "This cannot be performed because of disc restriction" on Transformers: Age of Extinction.
