Quickly transfer files to and from your laptop or desktop using this SanDisk Ultra SDCZ48-064G-A46 USB 3.0 flash drive that features a read speed of up to 80MB/sec. The 64GB capacity offers ample storage space. (Ten times faster than USB 2.0 drives. Write speeds up to 10 times faster than Cruzer USB 2.0 drive.)* *USB 3.0 port required. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device.
Does not meet the Specification
Posted by: Sensei from: on
If you go to the Specification on the official website:
you will find the following at the bottom:
2. (for 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB): Transfer to drive up to 10 times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives (4MB/s); up to 100MB/s read speed.
That mean 40MB/s Write and 100MB/s Read.
After Buying it and test it myself, here is the Actual Transfer Speeds:
Write: 20-23MB/s -- Read: 80-85MB/s
Keep in mind that you will need the Write a LOT more then the Read .. but they keep trying to deceive you by putting the Read Speed only! which is normally higher!
Sadly most people don't know how to probably test and rate the product!
They just give it 5 Stars because it was working .. yes of course it will work otherwise why we would buy it!
Finally i would suggest copy the default files inside the Flash Memory into your computer and format the Flash Memory into the default setting before using it.

It works great
Posted by: Chavez714 from: Santa Ana, CA on
I downloaded all the seasons of a show that my wife and I had been wanting to watch and placed them on this memory stick. The entire season fit and I still have loads of memory left over. The whole file transferred from my external hard drive to the memory stick in just a few minutes. I stuck it in my blue ray player and started watching our show.

Performance & Benchmarks Below Average
Posted by: tjbIthaca from: on
Disappointing, but adequate for moderate speed writes. Tested with Ubuntu Linux 14.04.2 on Sony VGN-NW270F using default Disks utility. My computer has USB 2 ports. Benchmarking parameters:: Transfer Rate Samples = 100, Sample Size = 10 MB; Access Time Number of Samples = 100. Results:: Averages: Write = ~12 MB/s Read = ~39 MB/s Comments:: Reads were fairly constant at ~39 MB/s with insignificant fluctuation. Writes spiked sharply between 12 and 7 MB/s. Access times were constant at ~0.99 ms. Conclusions:: I have a few PNY flash drives of the same capacity, purchased recently, that benchmark about the same on read and access, but are twice as fast on write. The waveform on the PNYs are square and may contribute to the better write speeds. The SanDisk had sharp points on the top and bottom of the waveform. I'm not an engineer, but I suspect the controller in the PNY flash drive may be more modern and advanced than the one in this specific SanDisk flash drive.

Great USB Flash drive
Posted by: jon96789 from: Honolulu, HI on
I love this drive...It is USB 3.0 which is somewhat faster than USB 2.0 (definitely not 10X faster, more like 50% faster). It also uses a retractable cap instead of a separate cap that can be easily lost. It is very large and is very cheap when on sale,,,

Okay for the price
Posted by: MikeyMike from: on
It's a good flash drive from a trusted manufacturer, but they clearly cut corners to keep the price low. I got it to store some movies on, so it's fine. But when you go to insert it into the USB port, you have to hold the button tight to keep the drive port extended; this wasn't the best design choice. If that's not a deal-breaker for you, I would recommend this.

Great flash drive
Posted by: josephine from: on
Its blazing fast like it's supposed to be. Feels like cheap plastic. I am so used to flash drives having LED lights as status indicators, which I miss on this Flash drive. For the price it's amazing. Does what it's supposed to do.

Not very fancy or with a super protective case, but easy to use. I loaded 50 Gb of tax records and family pictures in less than 30 minutes from an older PC with USB 2.0. Everything was stored perfectly and it went right into my fireproof lockbox inside my safe. For the price, I may get another and put it in my safe deposit box at the bank.
