New Style of Gaming Posted by: from: Phoenix, AZ on When I first played this game I was shocked on how much I enjoyed it. Roaming an open world Chicago, you are able to hack into endless different types of technology. It was refreshing to see a new type of game that I am not use to, although the controls are hard to get use to at first it is still a blast. There are many weapon and vehicle choices for the size of the map. Cons: The graphics of the game seemed to be last gen to me, a lot of textures were not very well done along with the cut scenes. But overall they aren't terrible. The vehicle controls remind me of playing GTA 4, which is terrible because the cars don't handle as they should and you can virtually run into anything without damaging the vehicle or your person. As you drive you can hack into traffic lights and what not but you are unable to use your gun.. Also may last complaint is when I was told you were able to choose how to play the game (stealth or run and gun) I was excited. Come to find out there are alot of missions where you will fail if you are seen by an enemy.. Overall this is a fantastic game with a new refreshing taste of open world play. Definitely worth a purchase if you are still thinking about it.

Fun, but Amazing...Hardly. Posted by: from: Lancaster, OH on I have been waiting for this game since it's delay last fall. With the delay I guess I was expecting, more? The game is fun, the hacking is awesome, the maps are huge and I love the whole concept of the game it's really great. With that said it seems to have something missing. For starters I'm not a graphics snob but immediately I noticed how last gen it looks normally things like that don't bother me this game it does and some textures are just bizarre throughout the world. There is a vast amount of vehicles but their handling is worse than GTA 4. Along with poor handling the damage aspect is bizarre u can hit vehicles but it seems like u don't hit them, I crashed my car into a pole and it didn't even look like the car had Ben damaged a bit. Overall, gameplay is great, the hacking adds so much to the game without the game would be terrible. But with its graphical hiccups it's hard to feel u are truly in the next gen universe. It's quite a shame, bc just a few minor things could easily make this game a 5 star worthy title. It's still good I would recommend it but don't expect too much bc I was a bit let down.

Sandbox Hacking Posted by: from: North Carolina on We were all waiting on the next Grand Theft Auto but they were a now show for the NextGen! This delivered! Hacking the Utilities offered new strategies for dealing with the tasks at hand. Criminals, Police, and Terrorist Human Traffickers, it didn't matter the element as long as you had your trusty IPhone. The game is good. There is a story and a hefty amount of side missions to complete. There are mini-games like chess problems. It has some nudity so watch out for the kids. The mini-games -- digital trips -- are fun. I competed in a few online races. The best feature is invading someone else's game to hack them. It's real. You got to hide but if they find you it's game on. Interesting concept. I noticed when my level got too high nobody attempted to hack me. You have some customizations for your jacket, hats, and weapons. The soundtrack is a good mix. Overall a fun title.

So good so far. Posted by: from: on Haven't played the game much but every time I have it keeps me hooked and entertained. It's very similar to grand theft auto so if you're a fan of those games this is the game for you. The story line and section of this game makes it an instant classic. I'd recommend picking this game up and then pitching up the second edition once it comes out.

Don't believe the negative reviews Posted by: from: on First off, this game was one of the most hyped games for the beginning of this console generation, this in turn was its downfall. For a new Ubisoft IP it had alot of praise and excitement, in fact it was an unrealistic bar that was set for it, if you go in not expecting anything from this game you will see that it's not bad. Paying the full $60 price tag for this game did sting a bit when coupled with the hype train the title was the conductor of, the game mechanics such as the shooting in the game are very tactile and satisfying. The main downside is the driving mechanics, felt like a kid who was making his first game, I feel that this game laid the ground work for great future in this franchise. If you ever get to play the divsion, it feels like they used alot of the game mechanics from this game in that game. Bottom line if you can pick this game up for $20 or less, it is fun for a play through without the added hype.

Ok, but far too serious Posted by: from: on Overall an ok game, and I look forward to the second one, but in large part because it has a different lead character. This one's lead is far too serious all the time. The game was pitched as a sort of GTA-style game, but lacks any of the humor that made that game work.

Repetitive, Repetitive...And Bland Posted by: from: on First of all, I'm biased against Ubisoft, so if that's a problem you won't agree with me and that's fine. This game is like Assassin's Creed, it has an incoherent story that is bland and boring, and everything you do in the game is busy work. This game (as well as Assassin's Creed) gives you repetitive mission types, that do little to motivate the player to continue them. I actually went through and did all of the tedious side quests, and as bad as that was, once you finish that and the main story, there's absolutely nothing left to do in the game besides mini games such as digital trips or board games like chess. There isn't anything dynamic in the game that can make it keep going like GTA or other open world games. This is just like Assassin's Creed in this regard, once you finish it, you finish it. There's no replayability in my opinion. Ubisoft doesn't know how to make experiences that are dynamic and that are long-lasting, that's why they pump out their franchises as fast as they can (usually annually or biannually). I would definitely not recommend this game.
