Very good for the price
Posted by: SCHESTAK from: MA on
I actually paid around $100 when I ended up getting this, but the average price of $150 isn't bad at all either! It comes with a desk stand but also gives you the option of screwing it into a floor stand. Has 4 different settings on the back of the mic. and also features a gain knob located directly above it that you can adjust. On the front of the mic., it gives you the option to control volume levels if you decide to plug in your headphones into it (another cool thing) and also has a mute button.
All in all, Ive had this product for little over a year now with no problems at all. BLUE is a great manufacturing company for microphones and this product is amazing, especially for the price.
* The volume knob has felt loose since day one but has never fell off. It isn't enough to bother me in particular, but it could be annoying to someone that is picky over small things like that. That's why I decided to rate the 'Craftsmanship' a 4/5. *

Ease of Use & Quality - Great for Streaming
Posted by: GuyInAtlanta from: on
I stream via Twitch, have a few youtube uploads, and was researching a good quality mic to improve the audio quality of my voice during streams as well as in COMMS. I am hobbyist level in this department. This product fulfills that through its ease of use, affordability, and its quality. It is extremely good.
I wasn't looking into spending hundreds of more dollars into audio quality that usually will not be detected by average listeners. I have done work in audio engineering and can attest that for the money this is a fine addition to the purpose I use this for. Otherwise, honestly speaking, one will find themselves spending hundreds more for audio equipment that the listener may never hear unless they themselves (the listener) have spent a similar amount in headphones and speakers to even pick up all the nuances in the sound....think about it....now stop being foolish and just start with this, it may be all you will ever need!

Great pro mic at an affordable price
Posted by: Punctuation from: Frisco,TX on
Do you want to sound like a professional? This is the mic to have - rich sound, multiple options - cardioid , stereo, omnidirectional or bi-directional for interviews, all of which are selected by a simple switch. It has an excellent silent-mute button (to cover your cough or clearing your throat with no clicks or on-off pops).
Easily the best thing for podcasts, narrations, voice -overs and video recording. It also looks fantastic.
I bought a mic stand for my Blue Yeti and also a spider shock mount along with foam cover and pop filter. The spider shock mount will definitely remove any electrical 'hum' you might get if you put the mic on the same desk as a PC - although you can always sit the mic on some dampening material or similar but the shock mount is the right way to do it ;)
A great microphone and a bargain for the price too.

Versatile mic with great sound quality...
Posted by: willyb311 from: Quinlan, TX on
I do everything from music recording, vocal over-dubbing, podcasts, and audio narration and this mic handles all of my needs. On my mac I just plug the mic in with the supplied mini-usb cable and everything works right out of the box. The controls are simple and easy to use. The mic is very heavy and bulky, which is what I was wanting. If you are wanting something that you can hold and move around, this might not be the mic for you. The only other downside is the fact that there isn't an xlr out, but if that is a necessity you can pick up the same mic with an xlr for a few more dollars.
The bottom line, the sound is great and meets all the different needs I have for a desktop recording microphone!

Great Mic For Youtube -Vocals, Voiceovers, Podcast
Posted by: KenPenguin from: Kingwood, Tx on
I just bought the blue yeti mic and used it today to record some vocals, and guitar. The sound that comes from the mic a lot better then the set up i had before, i researched online for weeks to find the best USB mic out there and I think i found it. I'm using this mic primarily for youtube videos and recording music. The only bad thing i have to say about the yeti is that it picks up everything, from the smallest tap or cars driving by my house. I live next the the freeway so it picks up the noise from the cars... It has a lot of features and a stable stand that would last forever. Overall i'm very happy with the mic and its performance, i would recommend this mic to anyone that wants upgrade their mic and have better audio for their videos and music.

Looking for a Great Desk Mic, look no further...
Posted by: IceBear from: on
Most people probably don't need a professional quality desk mic, but the sound quality produced by the Yeti is absolutely astonishing. The moment I logged into Teamspeak or Skype, people were able to instantly tell that I got a new microphone. Everything that I recorded test wise was crisp and clear, and the device is super easy to set up. If you're looking for something that will give you fantastic quality (Like professional grade stuff) for your streams, VOIP calls, podcasts, youtube videos, or various other recordings, without breaking the bank, then this is the mic for you

Brilliant Mic for the Price! I love it!
Posted by: BRaphael from: on
If you want a great usb microphone for the price, look no further than the blue yeti. The sound is clear and clean. I especially love the multiple settings that it allows you to choose from depending on your surroundings. I use it for my gaming commentaries, vocals in music, as well as intruments. This is definitely the mic for you if you'd like a professional sound while saving up the "big bucks" for something a studio artist/producer would use.

Better than I expected!
Posted by: Harley4ever from: IL on
I purchased this to record an endless loop featuring the products I represent. I wanted the recording to sound near professional quality. I used this Yeti microphone (along with a pop filter) and was pleasantly surprised at how well the project turned out. It maybe more money than some of the cheap microphones out there...but it's also a lot less money than others! One of the few products that I have purchased recently that was better than expected. Buy this microphone...you won't be sorry.

Gamer, Podcasting, Vacals? This is it for the $
Posted by: PinkieBrony from: Chicago, IL on
The mic is very useful for those who are using it for podcasting, or talking to people on chats, and for those inspiring musicians and vocalist. Mic can adjust to 4 different styles. sound is very VERY clear compared to those that uses headset with the mic on it. Basically, sounds like you are talking to someone in real life, face to face. Base of the mic is not shock proof so what ever you hit on the table it will be picked up. May need to buy a shock proof stand.
Enough of the specs, for me I game, sing vocals, game commentary.
For gaming I mean like talking to people. Sounds really good. Only thing for you gamers is that if you have a clicky keyboard, it will slightly be picked up. I use lowest sensitivity on it.
For vocals, it is not bad. Not like those sound you get from your favorite singer but good for those who are beginners or just making music for fun. Great for recording instruments as well.
Game commentary or any commentary or podcasting w/e it sounds really nice no disorient sound occurs at all.

This Microphone Is the Best!
Posted by: DrBurl from: on
I bought this microphone to take an online language study course. I had found that cheaper microphones simply did not always do the job. I wanted to learn the language with the least accent possible. That meant that I needed critical voice input to the software to take advantage of the voice analysis qualities. This microphone produces the absolute best of voice analysis and makes tiny distinctions show up on the voice files. I am very happy with this piece of equipment.
